Too many d20 products?

There are only too many d20 products if you try to buy them all. As has been said above, the current number of d20 books has given me the luxury of being choosy. In addition, there are d20 products that are either in release right now or soon will be that cater to any and all tastes. Even when considering just fantasy, there are all shades of the spectrum as far as taste is concerned. Well, maybe not quite, but it's getting there. That's a positive thing. I dread the possibility of a "collapse" of the d20 market, because we'll be back to limited choices.

This just in from the review page:

There are currently 1099 reviews available on 545 products

Look, i spent a lot of time trying to word this carefully so as not to get reamed, but then i gave up. Basic point of my post:

Where's the saturation point?

When do we reach the point where new d20 products are just so much wasted paper? Are we there yet? Getting Close? Passed it a long firkin' time ago ?

P.S: Fun math fact: If we let the current amout of products produced since the d20 system was unvieled be the basis of our prediction, there will be 5000+ d20 products by the time the system reaches the age 2nd edition was when it was replaced.

Better to have too many, than too few i say.

More means greater variety, more possibilities, more otptions and greater choice..... and i'm all for all those things.

Ironic. There is so much that WotC produces that is CRAP and there is so much d20 out there that is better...

Not that WotC doesn't have some fine books right now. But the modules are dreadful, the splatbooks are mediocre (at best) and some of the other supplements like Hero Builder's Guidebook, etc. were superfluous.

Your right

I might have clarified and said i only buy the COOL WotC products and leave it at that :p
