top 25 reasons you started playing d+d again

3E. I was absolutely sick of the 2E rules set and had quit AD&D around 97. Then I heard about the new edition, read up on the changes on the ENWorld site, liked what I saw, and bought the 3E books.

14) Despise Tolkien and Lord of the Rings, and have the burning desire to kill every hobbit in the world.

I actually knew a player like that. Absolutely DESPISED Halflings in all their forms. Wasn't to happy when in a game I DMed his character got killed by a halfling. :D

Huh???

What do you mean? "started playing again?" That's like you asked "why did you started eating food again?" You mean you can actually stop playing? No, sir, you gotta be kidding. You have to pry those dice out of my dead, cold fingers! :D

In a couple of weeks, I could actually contribute to this thread, something like:

"Because we have enough players again since our quota female is done redecorating"

I stopped DnD mostly from 1994-2000. Was mostly in Cyberpunk, White Wolf and LARP, and Cthulhu (Ia!). 3.0 at GenCon got me back into the fold. :)

um 26 i guess:

26. Because it was too hard to find the entrance to the campus Steam Tunnels.

27. Inspired by slinky "Jack Chick" comic evil pagan Dungeon Master lady character.

28. Nobody will play "The Morrow Project" anymore.

29. "Because Bunnies & Burrows" is out of print.

30) Because nothing turns on the ladies more than hearing about your character. Seriously, who doesn't like hearing about somebodies character from a stranger? Those are always the most interesting, totally engrossing, completely intellectual conversations about. Find me one person who wanted to stab his eyes and ears out listening to someone talk about their character; they don't exist.
