Top Five New RPG Books

I really had a hard time figuring out what to write here. Although I bought quite a lot of stuff this year, most of it was older.

Top 5 of 2004 (so far ;), and in alphabetical order):

- Beyond Countless Doorways (Malhavoc Press)
- City State of the Invincible Overlord (Necromancer)
- Hero System Sidekick (Hero Games)
- Masters of Luck and Death (Issaries/SJG)
- Unearthed Arcana (Wizards of the Coast)

Looking forward to:

- Blue Rose
- WFRP 2
- Tekumel: Empire of the Petal Throne
- The World of Glorantha

I just now noticed that I only bought 4 WotC books this year.

My Top 5 of 2004 List in no particular order:

- City State of the Invincible Overlord
- Valus
- Frost & Fur
- Frostburn
- Monster Manual III

Honorable Mentions: Expanded Psionics Handbook and Unearthed Arcana

Dave Arneson's Blackmoor would be on this list if I had been able to buy it at my FLGS before it sold out. Still waiting for more stock... hmm, might at well list it here:

My Top 5 of 2004 List I haven't bought yet:

- Dave Arneson's Blackmoor
- Complete Arcane
- The Trojan War
- A Magical Society: Ecology and Culture
- Beyond Countless Doorways

Honorable Mentions: Hyperconscious: Explorations in Psionics and d20 Future

My Top 5 Upcoming in 2005 List in no particular order:

- Lords of Madness: The Book of Aberrations (new name, same excitement)
- Sandstorm
- City of Splendors: Waterdeep
- Glades of Death
- The Book of Roguish Luck

Honorable Mentions: Complete Adventurer, Dungeon Master's Guild II, and Maelstrom.

Cheers!

[*]Can't recall the name of it, bu that Charles Rice thing about the Samurai (Blood and Samurai maybe?)[/list]

Legends of the Samurai... legends man! Branding! ;)

Seriously though, you and Psion made my millenium with the mention of the book :)

Present:
Hamunaptra Egyptian Adventures Box Set (Green Ronin)
Expanded Psionics Handbook
Advanced Bestiary
Iron Kingdoms Character Guide
The Black Company

Future:
World's Largest City (AEG)
Game of Thrones
Thieves World
Lost Empires of Faerun (WotC)
Warhammer Fantasy Role-Play

Now this could change at any time. I really dig a lot of things in the Black Company and have already used the Advanced Bestiary a bit. Iron Kingdoms has seen some use in weapons, feats, and even some races, but not full playing yet (hence no review).

Game of Thrones and Thieves World are up there because I really enjoy the fiction and for the latter, owned the Chaosium books. World's Largest City just sounds cool and I'm an old fan of Warhammer FRPG and Warpstone so am looking forward to the new incarnation and hoping that it leads to Warhammer 40K. Lost Empires of Faerun... well, I'm a sucker for the Forgotten Realms...

WOW!

TWO Blood and Brains mentions, an honorable mention for Blood and Spooks AND a Frost and Fur nomination!

"You like me! You really like me!"

Top 5 for 2004
City State of the Invicible Overlord
Blackmoor
Tome of Horrors II
Road of Kings (Conan RPG supplement)
Mesapotamia

Future:

Wilderlands Boxed Set
Shadizar

Looking for some opinions here. What are the Top Five RPG books that have come out within the last twelve months? Second question: What are the five RPG books that you are most looking forward too?
1. Book of Iron Might (Malhavoc)
2. Beyond Countless Doorways (Malhavoc)
3. Complete Book of Eldritch Might (Malhavoc...a trend here?)
4. Advanced Bestiary (Green Ronin)
5. Eberron (WOTC)

Most looking forward to:

Advanced Player's Guide (GR)
Advanced DM's Guide (GR)
Arcana Evolved (Malhavoc)
Arms & Armor 3.5 (Bastion) - yeah, it's out, but I don't have it yet

1. Unearthed Arcana
2. HARP
3. Grim Tales

I just buy so few books that I just can't think of anything else off the top of my head. And I don't even have Grim Tales yet (just ordered it), but I know I'm gonna love it.

Anticipating:
Complete Arcana (don't have it yet)
Complete Adventurer (yea, I'll have to round out my collection like the schmuck that I am)
HARP: Cyradon (coming soon!)
HARP: College of Magic (is out now, but I don't have it yet)
World's Largest City. It just sounds impressive.
