Hmm - that seems as if it wouldn't crowd out the front page too much. Morrus, do you have any further thoughts?

Cheers!
Hmm, didn't realize this had turned into a discussion of content on the main news page :)

We used to have a sidebar that showed the 5 most recent reviews, whether by EN World Staff or otherwise. Might that be a solution?

Just out of curiousity, do rpg.net and 3rdedition.org have staff reviewers, or can anyone post a review?

# 20 (which I wrote a review on) has lost it's value with the release of 3.5. The space of a lot of creatures (giants for example) has changed. So maybe fiery dragon should relase a 3.5 counter collection.
I believe they will, it will be called Counter Collection Gold IIRC. I think it will have a release early this year.

Yeah, I was a bit disappointed to find out how many of my counters are now the wrong size in 3.5. Many fo the counters are still very useable, however.

Both, I think.

The 3rdedition.org definitely has Staff Reviewers, as I'm one of them, but anyone can write reviews or articles for publishment on their site. (I think I just used a word that doesn't exit, but no matter...) Send your article or review to editor@3rdedition.org

RPG.net has a html interface for submitting reviews - http://www.rpg.net/reviews/submit-review.phtml

RPG.net also tends to be faster than the 3rdedition.org at publishing reviews, but I like the people at the 3rdedition.org boards better. ;)

Cheers!

Of course, the really annoying thing is that I live in a major U.S. city--Atlanta--and still can't find many of these books, like the Monsternomicon. Can get every dang Quintessential Foo book ever published tho'.

ditto this experience in Hotlanta.

i've taken the names, numbers, and addresses down of the stores i frequent or know about and send them to companies i want products from. ;)

ask MEG Hal :D

(I now write for the 3rdedition.org site, but that's because they lured me with free products to review. ;))

sellout. ;)

i weigh the reviews from sellouts differently than from those of us who paid for the products. ;)

if they are gonna put their hard earned cash down on a product and review it...it means more to me.

if some company gives product to a reviewer...i read their reviews skeptically.

but i've had this discussion with the reviewers in the past. :p

# 20 (which I wrote a review on) has lost it's value with the release of 3.5.

This presumes that
a) Everyone has (fully) embraced 3.5 (which they haven't).
b) I doesn't have standard one-square counters which are (mostly) unchanged (which it does.)

Well, quite a few of the counters are not 3.5 compatible. That doesn't make them useless in 3.5, but it isn't ideal.

Another gripe I have is the counters are not perforated. I believe some reason for that is stated, but I can't imagine why.

Cost.

Check out the Fiery Dragon website as the explanation is probably there.

There are pages devoted to "Print Review In The Last Month" and "PDF Reviews in the Last Month" - I don't know how much those pages are used, though that is the method I use for browsing reviews.
Me as well - I use the "Print Reviews In the Last Month" page all the time to read reviews, and never go to the others.

So, for those worrying about falling off that "Top 10" recent reviews - don't worry. I don't go to that page anyways.
