Torchwood Series/Season 4 a go!

Just announced today that STARZ! picked up the American option and funding for the new season, with 10 episodes on the slate.

I wonder if Freema will be on the team and if an American or two will be recruited. They're reportedly set do do more location shooting around the world for more of an international flare.

I'm glad that FAUX passed on it and a cabel network picked it up even though it makes my viewing a bit tougher.

Yeah, it's still a BBC production and still produced and distributed by BBC Worldwide. Looks like Jack and Gwen are still in, and there's going to be a more international team and international locations. Russell T Davies is still showrunner, along with most of his old BBC Wales Torchwood crew - who are gonna get to do some travelling, I guess!

It'll air on Starz (whatever that is!) at the same time as BBC1.

Presumably it's still in the Whoniverse. I wonder how they'll handle Jack's loss of faith after Children of Earth? I guess he returns - but to what, exactly? Torchwood Cardiff was destroyed, and Torchwood London was destroyed by Daleks and Cybermen a few years ago.

Starz is a U.S. pay cable network like HBO and Showtime.

That means it probably won't air on BBC America, at least not for a while after first airing. Darn, I don't want to subscribe to Starz. Guess I'll wait for the DVD sets and skip the EN World threads to avoid spoilers
