Toronto Gamers! (Or Ontario Gamers) Introduce Yourself

Re: FDP!

Of course, most of the FDP crew is in the GTA.

Jason and Mike are both in Toronto, Todd and I are in Brampton, and Scott is in London!

Claudio spent a lot of time at the Eaton Centre this summer, so I'll give him an honourable mention. :)

And to show just how small the Toronto gaming community is, I game from time to time with a guy named Greg Small who says that he knows some of the FDP people when he used to game with them.

Steve Conan Trustrum - Hey, I'm a freelancer too (well, I try to pretend to be one).
Cool what have you done thus far so I can check it out?

By the way, on a somewhat related note as a Canadian gamer/freelancer, this ended up getting me a spot as an NPC in Palladium Books' "Rifts World Book: Canada". The character of "Steven Conan Trustrum" is a wild stalker, a balk psychic warrior who acts as the head of security for a ranch. :D

Greetings,
I live in Mississauga and work downtown (What a Commute!), playing since 1980. I recently went to my second Con ever, the Weekend at Ket LG campaign. I had a great time and I found the mods interesting and GMs fun to game with. The tables I was at were predominantly filled with foreigners mostly Americans (Geoff, Furondy, Keoland...) but a few Quebecers (Tusmit). It would be nice to see more Ketites (Ontario and Eastern Canada) at the next one in TO. If anybody hasn't tried it, they should give it a go. I was most pleasantly surprised.

See Ya There,
Al

Heh, those guys from Tusmit were a riot. I DMed them all day Saturday and we had a blast. Unfortunately I killed one in the Master Maze on Sunday when I kept critting them with battleaxe-wielding Dwarven Fighters. :(

I will say Al that there were only about 2 tables worth of "foreigners" (about 10 players). The other 5 or 6 tables were Ketites. I think they got around 50 people total.

Comments I heard from people were that it was a very well organized and run con. The coordinators did a great job with it. Even with some no showing judges they managed to get everybody squared away into the tables and mods they wanted.

My only complaint is that I didn't get to do the Mechwarrior: Dark Ages and DC/Marvel Heroclix demos...the guy didn't come back on Sunday!

Fiery James, will FDP have a presence at the next one? There usually are a couple of vendors present but it's more of a pure gaming con.

Anyways, whoever from here shows up, come say hi at WiK 2, I assume I'll be judging again. Or at least I wasn't given much choice in the matter ;)

Coord: You're judging at WiK 2 right?
Me: I don't know...I may want to play instead...
Coord: You're judging. *glare*
Me: Yeah, that's what I meant.

:p

Hey - guess I'll ring in too as another Toronto resident, deep downtown this time!

Who said they were in Hamilton? Bayshore Hobbies is still there?? Wow. I was at Mac about 10 years ago now and that was my game store of choice. Is it still in the same place just on the edge of Westdale? Is the same woman (I want to say Rose) still running it?

Don

I'm in Toronto (Scarborough to be exact) near Kennedy Station. I've been playing & DMing since '82 (D&D, Call of Cthulhu, V&V, FASA Dr. Who & Battletech... to name but a few). I game when I can (hopefull this weekend) but I spend most of my time working on gaming websites. :D

Thrilling d20 Adventures (d20 Pulp Heroes)

V&V Emporium

Cheers,
Tim

Not only is Rose still around... she's got *two* stores now! *laugh*

You went to Mac? So did I... were you ever a member of the dreaded M.A.G.I.C. (McMaster Adventure Gaming Interest Club, for those who must know)? I had the shame of being vice-president for a year... *laugh*

Ambient Inc is based in Vankleek Hill, Ontario.

Half-way between Ottawa and Montreal.

Anyone who wants to get in on a weekly or bi-weekly game out here is welcome. One hour from either Montreal or Ottawa (even Kanata - I play Car Wars monthly in Kanata, it's just over an hour)

Hi all,

I haven't been on the boards for long but I'm in Ottawa. Smack dab in the middle of town, to be precise (about a 15 minute bike ride from FLGS Fandom II - there's a relevant statistic for ya.) Born here, still here, except for about 5 years of university in Waterloo.

Playing RPGs since... gawd, 82? 83? DM since never really. I'm working on my first campaign, but I'm between games at the moment, except for PBeM Adventure.

Well, I was born in London, but sadly now I live in Florida. I wish I was back home where I could get some DECENT weather. I hate the heat!!
