Tournament of Champions in recent Dungeon

UltimaGabe

First Post
Hey, everyone. A few months ago, an issue of Dungeon came out with a new Tournament of Champions adventure (basically, a long time ago, they came out with an adventure made up of a tournament where the party has a certain period of time to solve a puzzle with a certain amount of resources. They're up against other groups as well, and whichever group finishes them all in the shortest amount of time with the fewest casualties wins- they then came out with a new one a couple months ago). Would anyone know what issue this was in, or where I could find said issue? (Is there anywhere online that it could be found, by any chance?) I was hoping to run this for a new campaign in a few weeks, and any help would be most appreciated.

If no one else knows, Johnathan Richards frequents these forums, and if he sees it could probably point it out to you.

"Challenge of Champions V" was in Dungeon #108, the March 2004 issue. It's listed on the "Back Issues Available" ad in the latest ish, so Paizo still has some around.

Good to see stuff by Richards-- I still miss his "Monster Hunters" ecology articles from Dragon. The new formats just aren't as much fun...

Yep, Dungeon #108 has the "Challenge of Champions V" adventure you're looking for. Be sure to download the web enhancement for it from the Paizo website, though, as the material there fixes a couple of problems with the way they originally printed a few of the scenario maps. The link is HERE.

And thanks for the kind words, WmRAllen67!

Credit where it's due, and you're more than welcome!

I, for one, would like it if Paizo would consider adding to the Dragon CD-Rom archive-- I'm missing a few of the Monster Hunter Adventures! Alas, it's probably not cost-effective (yet) for them to do this.Maybe sometime around issue 450...

In the meantime, if I keep saying nice things about you, would you consider a novel-length treatment? Huh? Would ya? Huh?

Given the enormous legal problems they had the first time around, they will probably not ever do this again. (Although I could be wrong - does Paizo buy electronic reprint rights?)
