Traveling Spellbook?

I thought I read about a traveling spellbook somewhere at one time. Has fewer pages than the PHB's standard spellbook and therefore can hold fewer spells, but weighs significantly less as well.

I just skimmed through Tome & Blood, Arms & Equipment Guide and Magic of Faerun. Did I miss it? Is it in another book? Or am I just on something and out of my mind again? :p

Thanks for any help.

Spellbooks in 3.5 are a lot smaller than the ones in 2, so it's not really important to carry a smaller book.

It's about the size of the PHB, only thicker, about as thick as 2 books together I imagine.

I didn't really play much 2e, so I don't know/remember how they used to be, but right now it's important because of the weight. 3 lbs is pushing me right up to and nearly over that Light to Medium encumbrance boundary. While I can always ditch some other things I thought I had come across a 3.X Traveling spellbook that was only 1 lb, and was going to go with that since my PC doesn't need 100 pages of spells with his single level of Wizard.

Thanks all.

The thought of travelling spellbooks conjures up horrible visions of spellbooks with legs.

Mind you, The Travelling Spellbooks would be an excellent name for a rock band.

The 1lb book you are remembering is probably Boccob's blessed book, a wondrous magical item.
I don't think so. That book does weigh only a single pound but it has 1,000 pages (according to Sovelior's 3.5 SRD) and I was thinking the Traveling version only had 50 or so (much fewer than the standard spellbook, which has 100 pages).

Thanks though. :)
