Travelling DMs: What do you tote your game in?

Plastic milk crates work well. I've got one for the books, and the minis go in a small el-cheapo backpack along with dice, pencils, markers, etc.

My DMs who don't live in the house we game in, carry their stuff in either bookbags, small luggage or a large-sized duffle bag. And separately, carrying the Tact-tiles they use. Those have been very nifty for our gaming... I carry my stuff in a backpack. The rest use either the backpacks or tote bags or a soft-side "briefcase".

Well, unfortunately none of my players have purchased any books, save 1 PHB (Although they do supply the beer and chow). So, it's one of those "I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it" problems.

I have one DM who carries most of his books to his sessions. He figures that someone might need a book he has although there's been a few occasions of "I didn't bring that one.." recently..... But he's good for carrying around a dozen or so each time!

I use an aluminum toolbox that I bought at Home Depot for $20... the cat was extra...

Heh. We don't tote cats to our hosts' house. One of them is very allergic to cats and we all meet there as it's the only place that isn't inhabited by at least one cat.....

I try to put everything on my laptop pre-game- makes things a lot easier. We keep our mini collection/battlemat/dice at my friends' house where we game and they have most of the books anyway. So usually I'll just take my laptop bag (which is a backpack style one and holds a few books as well as the computer) and a folder for loose notes/handouts.

I use a large L. L. Bean bookbag.
Once for giggles we weighed how much stuff I was schlepping to the games I was running (I am a liifelong pedestrian), it came to over fifty pounds. My back hurts if I don't carry the bag often enough...

*EDIT* Wow, that BCW case looks awesome!

*EDIT 2* Aha! they also have a back break easel back note book! Mine just wore out, and I had no idea where to find one, thanks!
