Trinity Blood: any good?

Felon

First Post
I've got the anime dubbed in English. I've watch two-and-a-half episodes and the cast of characters seems pretty weak so far. White-haired bespectacled priest acts like a dork for most of the episode, then suddenly he's an all-powerful kicker of vamp butt. Whatever.

Does it get better? Does an ensemble cast actually develop?

Not really. The scope improves, the stakes get higher, they introduce more archetypes (professor, silent swordsman, rebel with a soft spot for children), but it never really improves.

I watch it because it's pretty and it's free, but even I have to admit when my wife walks by that it really is terrible. ^_^

It's a very poor Trigun.

This one is probably somewhere in the mediocre, 3 out of 5, range. I agree with what Jeremy said, in that its trying very badly to be like Trigun. The show really has nothing going for it, and I quit on it halfway through. It's possible that it gets better toward the end, but I doubt it.

Ok...at least the best secret of the story was not stated. I watch it all...and I like it. Although as said...nothing overwhelming...but in the end. It was okay to me.

Same here. I watched the first episode, and I think the second as well. I usually try to watch three episodes of anything but I didn't make it this time. I didn't see a whole lot that I haven't seen done better elsewhere, but I may give it another shot later on.

I wasnt fond of it. The fact they apparently have two VERY whiny sounding characters getting together so often didnt help endure it to me either. (Shut UP Sister Ester, please!)

Also, the ending was confusing, and I suspect it only makes sense to those who read the manga this came from.

The premise behind Trinity Blood has promise, but it has a number of major flaws.

1) It is really too much like Trigun.

2) It moves slowly (this coming from the guy who thinks .hack//SIGN moves fast), and characters don't develop well. Characters they have developed well tend to vanish without a trace.

3) The backstory is never explained clearly.

4) It really is just incomplete. From what I have read online, it seems the original creator died before the source material for the anime was completed (either the manga, or some novels, I'm not sure which).

In the end, I can't say it was a bad anime, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

I wonder if Trinity Blood's Adult Swim successor, Blood+, is going to be any better... It certainly started out interesting.

Not really, I could not stand the 'oh, woe is me' and crying that passed for dialog, the action was not very good, taking too long to build and then being lackluster.
