Trip Attacks: Limited to specific weapons?

You can make multiple with Combat Reflexes for seperate AoO infractions.

But to go with the above concerns and the table kreynolds started, which was good but didn't have the extra one that I think should be there.

trip with IUS and no improved trip, no AoO

Basically, the benefit of a weapon that trips is that you can drop it and avoided getting tripped in return. Otherwise to paint a picture it would be when two characters press against each other and muscle the other to the ground. Some will probably not like this image but it does well to explain how you can't drop a non-tripping weapon to not get tripped in turn. It is because your in an almost grapple with the person. Whereas tripping weapons you don't get up in their fact to do a trip.

The posted language does not say that. It is ambiguous on whether or not a trip attempt made when you have IUS is free of the AoO from tripping or not. I agree it should be the way you posted, but that doesn't make it official, or clear.
