Tripping while in a grapple.

If you are grappling a person and in the next round you want to pull them to the ground with you so you're both prone, do you have to make a touch attack for the trip if you are already grappling?

When I think of tripping, I think of using your legs to knock them over (which I'd assume requires it's own touch attack). But I guess you could still "trip" someone without doing a leg swoop (wouldn't require a touch attack if you're already grappling).

I would allow that with a successful grapple check, tho, there is little reason to not just pin the opponent instead. ;)

I'd say that if you have your opponent pinned, you could both go prone, given that you can move your opponent with a successful check.

I would say yes... you're still trying to get your 'tripper' (leg, kama, etc.) in contact with a trippeable part of their body (leg).

Oddly though, by RAW this may not be allowed, as unarmed tripping is an "unarmed attack", and you could only "attack with an unarmed strike, natural weapon, or light weapon against another character you are grappling"

I'd certainly allow it, but you need not go prone with the person you tripped (even if you're grappling them). Note that other options might be to 'move' your opponent (and yourself) to the ground, or pin them (which isn't necessarily 'prone', but it might as well be).
