Troll regeneration and wounding weapons

Does a troll get affected by a wounding weapon? Or can you not take CON damage from a damage source that is only nonlethal? I can't seem to find facts to back that up in the SRD, but it seems to make sense to me. Looking for facts....

I just found something in the SRD from the regeneration special ability that would seem to support wounding still gets through: Attack forms that don’t deal hit point damage ignore regeneration. Now I'm really confused...

Well, looks like some stirges can go troll killing.

In the case of the Tarrasque: It's immune vs ability damage... in most other cases it's a good idea when facing regenerating creatures.
