While Eric's schtick might be cliched sometimes, I think the character of Eddie (the couch potato gay vamp Jason has trapped) is refreshing. It's what made the past two episodes interesting for me.

From what I have heard in the novels Eric starts off like this but over time becomes a somewhat comedic-character.

The books do a vampire court, but much later on in the series. I'm interested in seeing how this matches up.
