True Resurrection Question

Okay, I have to know. What was the 3E rule?

Well, in 3E, when you were dead, you had -10 hit points. Because your hit points were negeative, when dead, you had the dying condition. Because you were dying, you were unconscious; because you were unconscious, you were helpless; and because you were helpless, you could take no actions.

But in 3.5, dying isn't 'negative hit points'; it's -1 to -9. So when you're dead and at -10, you aren't dying, so you aren't unconscious, so you aren't helpless, so you aren't prohibited from taking actions.

The difference being that it's the person at his destination casting True Res, not the commando himself. ;)

Then just give him an item for that. Like a hat of teleport. It may be more expensive than true res, but after the third use or so it will pay off. :p

But you can only the creature with the hat can be brought back.
With TR you can bring back ANYONE.

Almost everyone. In the FR, for example, if you were false or faithless, your allies better be quick with that resurrection, cause Kelemvor will be looking for you. And after he's judged you faithless or false, there's no coming back with true res - you need a god who speaks for you (or a wish spell).

Well, anyway, wasn't there an item called something something of friends? Could be that they got rid of it in the revision, for it was quite infamous.
