True Strike and Disarm.

Lord Ben

Is this a legal combo? It seems pretty munchy, but I guess if the wizard wants to provoke an AO it'd be okay with me. Does truestrike apply to this or only "real" attacks?

Or grabs the wizard by the robes for being silly enough to engage him in melee then thinking a little thing like not having a sword is going to prevent him from sticking him full of holes with his spiked armor and dagger.

just don't try using True Strike to find invisible people... ;)
Bah, all those invisible people would have Mind Blank going anyway and so thwart your True Strike!

The scenario in question would be four 3rd level PC's againt a Kobold Sor6, and 4 Sor2's. The Sorc 2's have true strike, magic missle, shield, and Xbows with small Quarterstaffs. I figure their job would be to run interference. Two of them with true strike attempting diarms, 2 holding an action to interrupt the PC spellcasters. The Sor6 will cast his spectral hand and use vamp touch/chill touch.

The SRD seems to indicate that you can't, since it says

The combatant and an adjacent target make opposed attack rolls . . .

If you want your character to be able to do disarms at distance just check out Ranged Disarm, which was in Dragon 274. It's a feat that is weapon-specific (you choose a weapon like with Weapon Focus) which allows disarms to work at range. Its all over the net, too.

Can you disarm with a ranged weapon? Is that harder than a normal disarm with a melee weapon?

There is a special feat for that... Ranged disarm. Dragon #274, page 60.
