True20 Companion: Who's got it?

Yay! True20 companion is (FINALLY!) out. I downloaded it earlier and read through some of it.

Who has it? Opinions? I'm really excited to see the non-fantasy setting chapters to see how I can move all my modern gaming from d20 modern to True 20.

That's exactly what I'm checking out right now....will have more words when I've digested more of the rules...
 

It's funny this just came out considering I pulled out my copy of True20 this weekend for the first time in months to try to use it for some Cthulhu fun, and I see there's a horror section in the True20 Companion.
 


God I really hope they follow this up with Companion II.

I'd like to see a chapter on:

Pulp
Noir
Western
Gaslight/Victorian
Apocalypse (there is a small bit on it in Horror - but could definately use a full chapter in companion II)
 

Hi guys, I look forward to hearing everyone’s thoughts on the companion once you have all had a good read-through.

Also, anyone interested in the Noir genre may want to check out the M&M book "Noir" since M&M is something like 75% compatible with True20.

ONLY 75%? Damn.. Now that players can directly compare M&M characters to True20 characters (in terms of power) I would have expected that 75% to jump up to 80%.
 

I'll have to look through it again. It was probably the best supplement I've ever purchased, regardless of rules set. And it's for M&M1e, which may or may not be different. Hands down, without the stat stuff, it's a valuable resource.

I'd just like to see it done in True20 style :)
 

Hm. Decisions, decisions.

Do I get the PDF, or wait for the print version. Or get both.

And do I try to incorporate rules/options/whatever straight away into stuff I'm currently running, or do I wait for next time around. . .

Anyway, it sounds cool. Good to see Green Ronin going strong. :cool:
 

All depends on what you want to do with it...

2 chapters are strictly modern (Space - Modern).
1 chapter is fairly modern, but horror can be fantasy

I wouldn't get it to try to incorporate the new role creation...I'd wait for a fresh start for that.

The one great thing is more feats. I am a feat whore. I can't get enough feats. This pretty much adds another 50% (or more) feats to the system from just True20 Adventure Roleplaying.

If you want feats, then get it and use it. Some of the feats can work in any setting, even if they're stuck in a chapter that doesn't fit your game (IE: Teamwork).
