Trying to work around a DM's restriction

Why not just ask the DM if you can treat Holy Water as a type of poison when used against undead?

Seems Holy Water DOES have some poison-like effects, traditionally, and really what's the difference between a vial of snake venom and a vial of holy water?

Doesn't require any refluffing, or feat wasting, he doesn't loose anything from his mileu and it may even enhance it if your sect of druids helped develop Holy Water to be used for fighting undead.

I never realized how weak Poison was, probably because last time I addressed it was shortly after MM1 was released.

I think I am going to houserule a new keyword Toxin.
All, instances of Poison damage are now Toxin damage, and effects are now Poison. It still makes poison immunity rather powerful, but it seems a bit more balanced.

And/Or, I am going to have to revisit immunities. I think replacing immunities with really high resistances may be the better way to go. Generally I don't think there should be situations where the players can't fill their roles. Maybe reserve it for dramatic effect, but I don't want to go back to the days where the fighter carried a golf bag of weapons so he could have whatever the most useful one was in a situation.

Given the recent change to flaming weapon I suspect changing your damage types with frost weapon, lightning weapon, etc., is probably not a long term solution anyway.

Last time I checked, the DM is the final say so as to what is allowed. It really doesn't matter what Wizard's says in the matter or the books say.

If a DM doesn't want anything from the PHB2 in his game then he is perfectly allowed to do so. Most DM's will tell you what is allowed and what isn't at the beginning of the campaign. Also, if you are in the middle of a campaign and a new book comes out, don't assume the DM is going to automatically allow it.

The DM was given the power of the final word for a reason and that should be respected. If you have a crappy DM then find another.
