I working under the impression that the water is flowing in a South to North direction. The primary water channel will eventually connect to the sea or large lake (further south of the mega-dungeon). I don't envision there's much of a current (perhaps due to some inherent magic of the Undercity). I imagine a lot of commerce is being plied on that water channel so the water is calm enough for barges to move up and down the channels.

Cheers,
Tim

I kind of want to print these up 1"x1" scale (miniatures scale) and then try to figure out how to fit this into my house. Maybe A4 will be in my bedroom, and then H2 will be in our kitchen? Not sure but boy wouldn't that be fun? Also, not sure why, but the image of Lizardmen gondoliers just popped into my head, plying the canals of the Undercity and also ssssinging ssssweetly ssssibilant ssssongs... "O sssssola Miooooo!"
