Turn Undead Stacking?

Sal

First Post
I was wondering if you get a number of turn attempts per day from Paladin Levels do you get more when you take levels of cleric?

If so is it 3 plus charima mod twice, or 3 + 3 + charisma mod?

Thanks for the help

Sincerely, Sal.

I believe (based on prestige classes with turning and on the paladin text) that you would not get more extra turning attempts, but that the levels would stack for determining how good you are at doing it.

That is to say, a paladin 4/cleric 1 would turn undead as a 2nd level cleric (since the paladin text says a paladin turns as a cleric of paladin level - 3). This is useful in that you can turn more powerful undead, but if you want more turning attempts you'd have to take a feat.

Nope. Increased Charisma, the Extra Turning feat, and possible class features for various prestige classes (as well as assorted artifact powers) are the only ways to increase the available number of Turn Undead attempts.

Sorry. Good luck.

And Ahnehnois is correct about how the levels stack, and why that is good.

As others have said, the levels stack, but the number of uses don't stack. It's similar to druid/ranger animal companions in that regard - one animal companion, but combine the effective levels to determine how powerful the animal is.
