TWF question.

First Post
I have a quick question about two weapon fighting and Sneak attacking. I haven't played a rogue since 2e, nor a two weapon fighter.

Character is a Rogue3/Fighter4 with Point blank shot, Weapon Finesse, Quick Draw, Two weapon fighting, Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization and Telling blow all set up to fight with daggers. Character is building towards a few levels of Whisper Knife, then Invisible blade/Master thrower.

If I get the drop on someone while armed with 2 daggers and hit them with both weapons in my round while they are flat footed or flanked does the sneak attack damage add to both hits or just the first one?

thanks in advance for the assist.

If its the first round and you beat their initiative they are flat-footed until their turn so all attacks against them get sneak attack damage.

I don't know about Telling blow, Whisper Knife, Invisible blade/Master thrower,

but I can reassure you that with TWF or other means of getting multiple attacks, if you catch someone flatfooted or flanked and you are eligible for sneak attack, then the sneak attack damage applies on every one of those attacks.

Cheers

thanks for the fast responses guys! I layed out all the feats and class stuff so folks would know exactly where I was coming from and going to with the character, in case it had an effect on the outcome.

Yupp. All attacks that qualify are sneak attacks. And no, it's not broken.

Check out that last discussion from a few days ago about "Greater Invis and sneak attack".

During the surprise round, you only have a standard action.
by my saying "getting the drop on someone" I was refering to beating them in initiative, not surprising them.

Now what happens when the same character gets rapid shot as a Whisper Knife Bonus feat. Using daggers, does this mean I can throw 3 daggers at my target, and if all 3 hit they all get the SA damage when my enemy is flatfooted/flanked?

AFAIK, then according to the RAW, yes. The Manyshot feat explicitly states that you only apply precision-based damage once per round, whereas the Rapid Shot does not state this.

As long as you continue to meet the requirements to qualify for a sneak attack (i.e. target is denied their Dex bonus, they are flanked etc) all of your attacks can be sneak attacks. In the example you give here your character would have to be targeting a foe who is both within 30' (since you are throwing the daggers) and is flat-footed (i.e. you have beaten them in initiative in the first round of combat). Where I get hazy is if the target is flanked by two or more of the rogue's allies does the rogue get SA in this case? Or does the rogue have to be one flanking in order to that? It is one area I've always been fuzzy on.

I am also not sure about a ranged flank, though I thought I saw it maybe as an ability for a Prestige class, or maybe I hope I did. Though yes, most likey the result of attacking a flat footed or dex denied opponent rather than flanked. Once again, thank you for the quik responses!
