TWF warhammers?

Ok rules guys & number crunchers:

I have a concept for a human ranger dual wielding warhammers.

What are the pros & cons?

I have another build that uses a maul (human fighter). And Hammer Rhythm is my favorite thing ever.

I've looked through the PHB & compendium.
Despite the Ranger ability being called "Two Blade fighting", the actual text only requires melee weapons. The same goes for all the cool ranger dual wield powers (they just require melee weapons, not blades).

I know there are some cool fighter powers I might miss out on.

But I was thinking, Human Ranger multiclassed with Fighter, than go Pit Fighter as my paragon path.

Thoughts?

When the Forgotten Realms books come out, I'm going to make a dwarf ranger that wield twin warhammers, wears scale armor, and has dungeoneering. He's going to be a slightly off-his-rocker maniac from a old clan of maniac tunnel fighters.

I might instead go with hide armor and twin battleaxes, but I'm in love with the idea. I stole it shamelessly from EnWorld, by the way.

(I should correct the above--that was going to be my character. But when I was telling a friend I was going to play a dwarf ranger, he questioned my sexuality, then I explained the concept, and now he wants to play that character. I've either perverted his sexuality too, or he changed his opinion. I'm leaning towards a little of both.)

My new character will probably be a paladin waving a greatsword around, but the dwarven tunnel fighter was my first idea!

How about this one. A dwarven ranger dual wielding picks with hide armor, and he hides out in a bitter cold tundra cave. (no pick feats though :( ) That's a cranky dwarf.
