Twisted Infinity: Trial of Contention

Shifter hops forward slightly to bring the creature in range of his strangely long slashing claws and unleashes a steam of blows towards the monstrosity.

OOC: 5' step forward bringing all of my attacks in range, attacking at +28/+28/+28/+28/+28/+28 for (4d6+17, 2d6+11, 2d6+11, 1d8+11, 1d8+11, 2d6+23)

(OOC: I am getting a different number for your attack bonus, I am guessing it is because you are not counting Elly's singing.

15 BAB + 10 Strength +5 for Natural attack amulet + 4 for Bard song -2 for shaken, -2 for size = +30

Correct me if I am wrong)

Seeing Ata wilt under the creatures assault and realizing he may not survive another volley, Dimitri prays for a moment, then steps forward and sprinkles a pinch of diamond dust on Ata releasing a flood of positive energy to counteract the damage done by the beast.

(OOC: Cast Restoration on Ata, dispelling the negative levels and restoring the Con damage/drain)

Noticing her friends struggle against the beast from their nightmares, Elly decides to help them more.
She retrieves her mandolin from her backpack, and strumming it gently at first, then more and more wildly, she subtly weaves another melody into her song, until it's completely changed. This new song makes you think of a golden dawn scaring away the darkness, as if your whole body was filled with light, you feel a deep sense of anticipation well up in your heart, and you feel able to do everything.

Howard Shore - Anduril - Lord of the Rings: Return of the King Soundtrack

OOC: I forgot to mention that since we're mindblanked, Elly and Tares are unfortunately immune to the effects of bardic music. I drop inspire courage (that will last for 5 more rounds) to sing inspire greatness in Ata, Glangim, Shifter and Dimitri. The cumulative bonuses from the two songs are:
+4 morale and +2 competence to attacks
+4 morale to damage
+4 morale to saves vs fear and charm
+1 competence to fortitude saves
+2 temporary HD (2d10 + con bonus worth of temporary HP, HD are considered two level higher for the effect of HD-dependent spells)
This is my action at the beginning of the 3rd round of combat, so it doesn't apply to the actions that have just been posted. It will apply on the next ones.

Ata stumbles back, shaking his head from the massive, draining blow. He smiles wanly at Dimitri and then casts a spell of his own. Channeling holy power through his frame, he speaks a holy word, attempting to unbind the very existence of this horrific creature...

Glangim enraged by the sight of his brother being hit roars a dwarven insult "over here ye beardless goblin!" Resolve pounding in again and again.

OOC: Charging in, hopefully to a flanking position with Ata; Moradin's Resolve +28/+23/+18/+13 (+2 if flanking) +4 adamantine warhammer collision, sure striking (-5 DR), ghost touch (1d8+19, 20/x3)

Elly’s melody carries over the battle, bringing hope and purpose. Dimitri reaches out with magic, and the terrible gashes across Ata’s chest look less horrific.

Tare launches a spell which breaks into two spells as they scream across the room, the sound is deafening when they explode. It adroitly moves to minimize the damage on one and the second one catching it for full impact. The sound rips into it’s body shredding it’s flesh.

(Roll to penetrate spell resistance 44, 35 both penetrate.

Rolling average (a natural 1 and 20 for its saves) it takes 33 from the first and half of 42 for the second)

Shifter roars bringing the massive draconic rage to bear on the creature, but Shifter’s timing is still a little off. Still his blows connect to the things main body for considerable effect

(Rolls of 35 (miss), 43 (hit), 36 (miss), 34 (miss), 39 (hit), 46 (hit) for 18, 19 and 26)

Ata steps back and begins to cast a spell but is distracted by the things gigantic legs.

((Assumed) Casting defensively DC 22, Rolled a 20 failed, lost the spell)

Glangim moves forward and lays into the thing with his hammer, connecting to the much softer body of (IT)

(Adding Elly’s modifier in Roll a 39 (hit), 29 (miss), 40 (hit) and 31 (miss) for 24 and 25)

The damage to it’s body seems severe, flesh has been torn away revealing decaying flesh inside. The damage on it’s legs continues to diminish, but the wounds to it’s body don’t.

(IT)’s human body is once again taken into the air and it skitters back into the south east corner, Shifter, Ata and Glangim lash out as it exposes itself. In the corner bolts of dark energy lash out from it’s multiple eyes trying to extinguish the little monks life.

((IT) moves back to the corner, provoking attacks of opportunities from Shifter 34 (miss), Ata 42 (hit) and Glangim: 42 (hit) for 27 and 27 minus some unknown amount of damage reduction.

Ranged touch attack on Ata hits for 39)

Ata, casting defensively, drops a blade barrier in the southeast corner, filling as much of the room as possible without catching himself or Glangim within the whirling blades of death...

Shifter leaps forward, grabbing at the creature with his vicious teeth.

OOC: Another charging attack at 20' reach, attacking (with all bonuses/penalties) at +32 for 4d6+21 points of damage.
