Two CSI Actors Fired !!

Gomez

First Post
Two actors from CSI, George Eads and Jorja Fox, have been fired by CBS in a contract dispute. So no Nick and Sara!

I am really bummed about this. Can it be the end of one of my favorite shows.

Well If two people had to go They would have been my choices. I like Catherine and Warrick better than Nick and Sara.
I would have to agree with this but I hope its not true, I pretty much like the whole cast of characters as they are now... Or at least Nick, he's a good opposite of Warrick... Sara is easily the most replaceable actor/actress on the show in my mind...

Are they shooting now? If not maybe they and CBS can unbunch each other’s panties before they are written off for good.

From what I have read they were let go for not showing up for the first day of shooting on the new season. Apparently yhey were trying to get more $$ per episode than the 100k they were already getting.

The start of shooting the new season has been delayed while the producers/writers try explain the loss of Nick and Sara.

I'm sorry to hear they are leaving they show, I liked both characters, but will miss Nick more than Sara.

I don't think this will be more than a small bumb in the life of CSI.

At the end of last season, wasn't Sara brought in for drinking and driving? I figured that was going to be the last of her anyway.

They were both good characters, but not cornerstones of the show. That show more then any other (except maybe Law and Order) really doesn't dpened as much on the actors and characters. Its the investigations that are the star of the show.

I agree on that part.

Not so much on this part... I love CSI, I only sort of like CSI: Miami but I wouldn't watch it if CSI wasn't so darn good.

CSI is a character driven show that does capture the human element.

I honestly think that if the situation holds, it will be the end of the popularity of CSI. It would be like losing two of the Friends cast in mid-run.

I think they can pull it off. The Greg character has had a growing role and is now almost interchangeable with some of the others. They'll probably pull in a new female character. Personally it's not the characters that have become tired but the scripts they've been doing this past season.

Don't think so. Know so little about these two characters' background they won't be missed. It's like Law and Order; the cast has changed so many times but the show retains it's popularity.

I've seen this debated elsewhere as to whether or not the characters make CSI or if the stories make the show.

In CSI's case, for me at least the characters make the show. I like them all, though to be honest Sara doesn't do much for me. To the above post which mentioned it, yes, she was caught drinking and driving in the final ep of last season, so her story is obvious. Nick on the other hand I liked. I would guess if they decide to mention why he's gone, it would be for a promotion somewhere else.

CSI Miami however I watch because of the stories. I could care less if they get rid of any of them except Cali, I like her.
