Ederic Areadus (8th lvl Human {Suel} Wizard) Chaotic Good:

Ederic is of noble descent from the house of Garasteth in Rel Astra. Born and raised in Old City, the noble ward of Rel Astra, Ederic had lived the easy life as most nobles do. At coming of age Ederic (cy 580) decided to join the Sorcerer’s Nexus, which is the famous mages guild of Rel Astra. As benefits of social rank Ederic was tutored by and studied under Ar-Razahad, one of the guild masters. In cy588 Ederic was one of a few to help guard the Crook of Rau while it was located in Rel Astra for a short time. Ederic mostly undertook mundane tasks for his master.

In early cy 590 Ederic traveled with Ar-Razahad to Dullstrand to secretly purchase a lost artifact called the Nethertome of Iggwylv, a spellbook of no small power. The exchange took place in an abandoned warehouse in the docks section of Dullstrand. After using magic to determine the credibility of the tome, Ar-Razahad was convinced that this was indeed the Nethertome. The next instant the warehouse was alive with thunder. Agents of the Scarlet Brotherhood assaulted the warehouse trying to steal the tome. A fierce battle ensued with Ar-Razahad unleashing powerful magics against the Brotherhood’s assault. The Brotherhood withstood the barrage and hard pressed Ar-Razahad. A wave of energy flung Ederic against one of the walls of the building and Ar-Razahad was surrounded by foes. Trying to use the magics of the tome Ar-Razahad opened a gate from another world. Whatever dweomer Ar-Razahad had tried to call forth, no one knows but all within the vicinity of him were sucked into the gate and it abruptly closed with a thunderous roar. Ederic and what was left of Ar-Razahad’s guard returned to Rel Astra and reported to the Nexus of the events that transpired.

The Nexus was willing to transfer Ederic to another mage but he declined and decided to go off on his own for a while, thinking of possibly finding the whereabouts of the Nethertome and his former master Ar-Razahad. His only friend left alive was a guard of Ar-Razahad’s tower named Britta. After telling her of what had happened and what he was about to do, she decided to join him.

Britta

Britta Amaya (Human female Fighter 8th lvl, Chaotic Good)

Britta is of pure Flan descent and belonged to the Tukim clan of nomads that traversed the Bright Desert and the Abbor Alz. At the age of 17 (cy 584), Britta's clan was decimated by the forces of Rary the Traitor after his disruption of the Great Signing and killing of Ottiluke and Tenser. Britta with a few of her clansmen escaped north across the Abbor Alz and sought asylum in the Duchy of Urnst. Now living in a strange society, Britta learned the ways of the ‘civilized’ folk of Urnst. She enlisted in the army of the Duke at first chance, hoping to some day be able to pay back Rary and his forces for the losses taken earlier in life.

She was assigned too a small outpost on the southern region of Urnst at the village of Kelefane, near Knife’s Edge Pass on the Abbor Alz. In cy588 two criminals from the town of Hommlet, near Verbobonc, entered Kelefane. In due time the two criminals, Blastum Starbrowed (an elvish f-m-t) and Marcus the Mad (a 7 foot tall human fighter with a massive composite bow) robbed the local moneychanger and killed many of the towns guard. The local magistrate sent part of the garrison after the criminals, joining up with a posse already formed and trailing the criminals from Greyhawk and Hommlet. The great chase began.

After 1300 miles, three countries and six cities later the posse finally had caught up with the criminals in Rel Astra. The chase was on to the docks, where the criminals had already paid for a ship to whereabouts unknown. The posse leader, a lesser noble from Urnst requested help from the authorities in Rel Astra. Rel Astra responded by allowing them to use three warships in pursuit of the criminals. (After a small fight in the common ward in which a score of Rel Astran guard were killed by the two criminals) The weather was not good for sailing that day but the chase continued. The ship that Britta was on got lost in a fierce storm and was thrown northwards, way off course. More bad luck was in store after the ship foundered on a reef and sunk. Britta along with a few of the crew escaped with their lives and crawled back to Rel Astra. Britta decided to stay in Rel Astra for a while and took employment as a guard for the Sorcerer’s Nexus, the cities mage guild. Rumors came later that the criminals were finally caught on a northern isle of Lendore and slain there although no bodies ever were recovered.

Nicely done. Shouldn't Britta's BAB be +8, though?

Thanks for the info... I make BaB with the appropriate Stat bonus'.. .so should be 12/11.. .the second score is for ranged weapons.... I had an earlier bonus on there from lower levels...
