D&D 5E Two New D&D Books Revealed: Feywild & Strixhaven Mage School

Amazon has revealed the next two D&D hardcovers! The Wild Beyond the Witchlight is a feywild adventure due in September, and Curriculum of Chaos is a Magic: the Gathering setting of Strixhaven, which looks like a Harry Potter-esque mage school, set for November.

The Wild Beyond the Witchlight is D&D's next big adventure storyline that brings the wicked whimsy of the Feywild to fifth edition for the first time.

The recent Unearthed Arcana, Folk of the Feywild, contained the fairy, hobgoblin of the Feywild, owlfolk, and rabbitfolk. UA is usually a good preview of what's in upcoming D&D books.

Curriculum of Chaos is an upcoming D&D release set in the Magic: The Gathering world of Strixhaven -- a brand new MtG set only just launched.

Strixhaven is a school of mages on the plane of Arcavios, an elite university with five rival colleges founded by dragons: Silverquill (eloquence), Prismari (elemental arts), Witherbloom (life and death), Lorehold (archaeomancy), and Quandrix (numeromancy). It's an official release by WotC. Combined with the Art of Zendilar vook, it is a pretty complete campaign setting. James Wyatt has said that any Magic setting that got the Planeshift treatment isn't likely taking to be getting a full book for 5E.

Official homebrew maybe, but I can't roll up to an AL game with a Kor character. Hell, it's not even on DnDBeyond*, which offers such unofficial content as the Blood Hunter.

Maybe the owlfolk and bunnyfolk are in both books?

Very possible: last year, they put Goliaths in Wildemount in March, and then published Goliaths with rule changes in Icewind Dale in September.

However, I think all of those Rave options were Magic the Gathering related, as they were off-flavor for D&D: Magic Fairies, not D&D Fairies, the "Hobgoblins" feel like a completely different thing, and there are Rabnitfolk in Magic. Given how many kinds of anthropomorphic animals we had in Strixhaven, I think we'll see rules for doing a wider variety than tested here (they don't need to test how to do a Bearfolk at this point in the Edition, methinks).

Actually it's unofficial, it's something James Wyatt and his daughter did on their own time, unpaved, with WotC's permission. It's popularity lead to official MtG setting books, Ravnica, Theros, and now Strixhaven.

Yet Wyatt has said that they are not planning to revisit the Planeshifted Settings in book form. They are available through official WotC channels.
