UBER Dragonborn Fighter or Paladin Defender...we can build him!

The Channel Divinity abilities are class features that work like powers, so you get those as well as your choice of an encounter power. The [w] indicates weapon damage. So, in your example if you were using a Long Sword, you would deal 1[1d8]+Cha modifier, or more simply read, 1d8+Cha modifier. If it said 4[w] it would be 4d8 for a Long Sword.

So I guess it works that way for at will powers and all of those too, right? Or does that only work with ones labeled "class feature?"

The Paladin's At-Will don't count towards the powers you can choose from, no.

One thing on channel divinity: you can only use one of the various powers linked to CD in any given encounter; in effect, they count as a single power, with multiple ways to use it.

I've attached the character advancement sheet I'm using for my first Paladin character.

It's more of a character sketch because I intend to be organic with his development.

Of note is that Tyrus's stats seem rather spread out and with seamingly sup-optimal odd numbers. However, given the feats I want him to get later on and the 2 for 1 cost of stats over 13, I think his stats have been rather well selected. There is also the roleplay character angle to take into account, which is important to me.

So yeah, Tyrus won't generate huge wow factor, but he'll pull his weight.

So a paladin gets all the paladin attack 1 at will powers in the player's handbook and then gets to choose one more?
The 1st level Paladin gets the Divine Challenge At-Will class feature, the Lay on Hands At-Will class feature, and your choice of two of the four at will powers;Bolstering Strike, Enfeebling Strike, Holy Strike, and Valiant Strike.

I made my Dragonborn Paladin with these starting ability scores:

Str 18* (+4), Con 12 (+1), Dex 10 (+0), Int 8 (-1) , Wis 12 (+1), Cha 18* (+4)
(+2 to Str and Cha from Racial bonuses)

What do you all think? Any other recommendations? The Str is quite nice and the Cha of 18 really helps with a lot of paladin abilities but wis and con kind of suffer a bit.

I would go for either cha or str, not both.

Lay on hands usages per day is based on wis bonus. I would rather have gone with 16cha, 13con and 14wis, and only selected cha powers, OR just dump stat str and go for con, wis and cha. In that case half-elf actually has better stat bonuses.

Remember that the FAQ says that paladins don't need to meet the same Str/Con feat prereqs as armor proficiency feats, so can actually dump Str unless they want to get the armor specialization feats at Paragon level.
