Ultimate 12th level fighty type build?

A buddy of mine had an idea for a "D&D Fight Club" - we had kicked around some ideas about ultimate builds, and he decided, on days where gaming is delayed or put off, we might have a FC type froo-frah, and just see how powerful a build we can make.

Its supposed to be fighty-type, I think a "Spellsword" kind of character would be fine, but the idea is to do as much damage with 12 levels as you can.

So, build-meisters of ENworld - I want to blow their socks off. I know you guys are up to the challenge.

ok, here is my build. Not the strongest, but its very playble and do able and uses no magic iteam tricks.

use any stats you want, but you want to be able to have a high dex, con and strength, and you also need a 13 min int. it may have starting stats like

str 15
dex 14
con 15
int 14
wis 10
cha 10

killorian (races of the wild) it has a humanoid smite if he humanoid.

1 Monk: (cobra strike): (2 flaws your pick) dodge, Combat Reflexes, Combat expert, Deft Opportunist
2 Monk: (cobra strike): mobility
3 Fighter: weapon focus (Glaive), Karmatic Strike
4 Fighter: Power attack
5 Barb:
6 Barb: Shorten Grip
7 Dervish:
8 Dervish:
9 Dervish: spring attack, Elusive Target
10 dervish:
11 Dervish:
12 Dervish: hold the line

You want to use a glaive as your weapon of choice, the tripping glaive also works (forget name)

Now this build doesn’t do damage persay but it should mitigate any damage he may do to you using melee. elusive target lets you negate power attack, thus letting you go hit to hit on him. Dervish dance lets you move and full attack inbetween your move action. Karmatic strike lets you get an attack of opportunity on him if he attacks and damages you. Hold the line lets you get an attack of opportunity on him if he charges (if he uses leap attack or something, although the damage will be mitigated with elusive target). all your attacks of opportunity get a +4 on attack (deft opertunist).

Basicly this should put him at a disadvantage going for a pure power build. The idea is to make it so he can only hit you once a round, while you can hit him at least 4 times a round. 3 for dervish dance, and 1 when he hits you. if he is med sized, you may get 5 attacks on him for moving in your square. focus on eq that prevent trips and grapples as he may go tactical too.

If he goes pure damage, mostlikely he is dead.

what this build does not do is crunch numbers as all damage is circumstance based, but it plays like beast on the board.

Deft Opportunist is in compleat adventurer
Elusive Target, Karmatic strike, hold the line, and dervish are all in Compleat warrior
Shorten Grip is in dragon compendum

Monk: (cobra strike) is in unearthed arcana and is in the srd. all it does is chang thier two starting feats

If you cant take flaws, be human and drop Deft Opportunist or Shorten Grip

LOL, for some reason i thought it was melee only. If casters are fair game, drop hold the line and pick up a mage slayer feat, and perhaps also drop karmatic strike for improved grapple perhaps. Pick up a mage bane weapon just in case.

Bah don't bother with Monk/Fighter dervish build.

Warblade/Swordsage is WAY better build.

You WILL overcome all odds. ;)

All right, specialized for ultimate damage, let's see:

Goliath Barbarian 1/Fighter 4/Exotic Weapon Master 1/War Hulk 5

Books needed: Races of Stone, Complete Warrior, Miniatures Handbook (non-updated 3e rulebook).

Stats: Maxed Str. Since this is a max-damage build, the rest is whatever you'd like.

Feats: (7)
Exotic Weapon Proficiency, Weapon Focus, Weapon Specialization: Bastard Sword
Power Attack
Leap Attack and Improved Critical, cuz we can
One more feat.

Equipment: (88kgp max)
Belt of Str +6 (36kgp)
Large Bastard Sword +5 (50.5kgp)
Other stuff (1.5kgp)

BAB: +6/+1
Str: 18 +4(Goliath) +6(Belt) +10(War Hulk) = 38 (42 Raging)

So then you go full Power Attack (6 points) and while raging the large bastard sword does:
Attack: +6(BAB) +5(Sword) +1(Weapon Focus) +16(Str) -6(Power Attack)
Damage: 2d8(Large Bastard Sword) +2(Weapon Specialization) +5(Sword) +32(Raging Str, doubled through Uncanny Blow) +12(Power Attack)

Final stats: Attack: +22/+17 Damage: 2d8+51

Pretty good chance to hit (+22/+17 are good attack numbers at level 12), and tons of damage when you do hit. Spending all the character's coin on two magic items is probably the only questionable part of this build, too; if so, you could lower the sword to +4 and the Belt to +4, with a final result of +20/+15, 2d8+48. Still damned impressive.

That's off the cuff. I'm sure I could come up with higher numbers if I really worked at it. *shrug*

you seem to have forgotten the second half of your post, namely your build... :p

Which books can you use?

How will you determine ability scores?

What are the rules for the "froo-frah"? Size of the battle-area? Buff time?
