Unapproachable East --- someone scored a copy!

I am intrigued by the star elves... Who are they? Where do they come from? Are they just some lost colony of elves in the Yuirwood, or are they members of the Imperial Elven Navy from Spelljammer, or do they perhaps live up in the high mountain peaks, close to the stars?

And even further... is their appearance a Realms-Shaking Event? Maybe something to do with the shades?

Gaah, and to think I'll have to wait until June to get the book... Damned slow overseas shipping...

Remember Deep Elves from "The Night Below"?

They were subterrarean, real tall, true neutral, and didn't have any clerics.

I was just thinking the other day that it would be interesting to run "The Night Below" in the Realms (using the upcoming Underdark sourcebook, and maybe working the Spider Queen adventure into it too)...but maybe instead of deep elves, introduce deep dwarves, descendants of a lost tribe who have forgotten that the world above exists.

Because there really are a lot of elves...

Not for nothing or nothin, as the saying goes, but does this art strike anyone as particularly crappy? Very cartoon-ish feeling to me. Ah, doesn't matter anyway, I'm not picking up anymore FR stuff. I've got plenty of Scarred Lands fun to keep me occupied.

On Star Elves. Who cares? I've already got more elves than I need anyway!

Well if Races of Faerun did not made me quit, this would ...

Next time we see something "censured" we know its yet another elven subrace.

... maybe they sould change it from "forgotten realms" to "elflandia" ...

Well, Star Elves would be better than having both Wild Elves and Wood Elves. I'm still waiting for someone to explain the difference to me.

Oh, and an elven subrace with a bonus to strength makes about as much sense as some mysterious halfling subrace with the same benefit.

Elves may be my favorite race...but this is just getting a little out of hand. Just beacuse I love Elves, doesn't mean I want more. I've got ENOUGH Elves! I want more Dwarves/Gnomes/Halflings/etc etc. Let them catch up before cranking out more Elf subraces...
You know...when I first got into playing Realms games, it always felt like the Elves there were presented as kind of moving away to thier islands and letting Faerun do what it wants to. Was I just imagining? *shrugs*
Oh, and I don't think the art's THAT bad. The faces are kind of blocky on the Elf and I'm not sure I like the pose for the Spirit Folk...but, *shrug* I'm looking at it from an artist point of view. Nice colors and I love the Gnoll.
