Isn't any +7 enhancement weapon (total 11+) an artifact and thus not subject to the anti-magic field? I've seen artifacts weaker than +7.

No. With the ELH rules, you can create weapon with a +10 enhancement bonus and +30 bonus wrth of special abilities (some of which may be worth +6 themselves). That weapon would not be an artifact (but it would be hideously expensive).

What you describe is a problem with a LOT of the creatures in the ELH. So many things in there are basically the "Hideously powerful but completely vanilla monster resistant to every interesting character ability/spell because of DR/antimagic field." it's scary. I've hoped for something a little more creative.

Edit: The ELH never says that artifacts are made only by deities, either... it hints that some artifacts were made by the gods, but never even makes that much explicit!
