Undead Grafts

Hello,

Do Undead Grafts work after you become undead? For example, if a wizard grafted a Bodak's Eye, an Enervating Arm and a Mohrg's Tongue onto his body, and THEN became a lich...would they all function normally? The lich description specifically says that they creature's eyes are destroyed, but I would think the Bodak's Eye would still work. Would they recipient still get the bonuses, such as the +4 inherent bonus to strength for the arm?

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't continue to work. As for the Lich's eyes being destroyed bit, I would just exercise some creative freedom here. Maybe the one eye remains, or maybe he just retains the power, even though the eye is gone.

That's what I thought. I'd go one step further (since I'm the DM ;) ) and say that undead creatures can get these grafts as well, as long as it is something they don't already have. A Mohrg can't get a second tongue, but COULD get a mummified hand, for instance. To me, this makes a lot more sense for an experimental necromancer. This would be house rule though, as the Undead Grafts clearly specify that only LIVING creatures can get these grafts. I think it's a great way to catch PCs off-guard.
