Undermountain not a rumor anymore

I hate to say it but I suspect the book will cover only level one. That would allow it to fill out the level more with details and have some control of level to aim for.

I'd be extremely surprised if that was the case. Do you have any clues or information that leads you to draw such a conclusion?

Yeah, that's what I figure. And, actually, I do like the Delve format. But, it does have one significant problem: it really eats up page-count, so that a large book may include only a deceptively small adventure. Thus, I'm not sure it's ideal for a product like Undermountain.

Well, it certainly does up the map count considerably, since each room would get a tactical map in Delve format. And that might mean they can avoid poster maps entirely.

Undermountain was one of my favorite parts of Faerun...hopefully they keep with the original and just update it to 3E and add some new stuff. ^_^

Considering the Expedition for Castle Ravenloft didn't change anything, I doubt they'll change much of any for Undermountain.

*would like Trance to point out to him just where in RARE it becomes repetiative....* :p

I'm fascinated yet skeptical. I have no idea how they're going to present Undermountain given the format (especially when the original box set couldn't even present Undermountain..).

And like trancejeremy, I'm not too keen on the listed authors' adventure-writing skills, either (which, historically, have been quite poor).

I already have Undermountain, and there's not much in there that can't be converted on the fly. If this is just a stat-block conversion with a few feats and PRCs thrown in, then no thanks. If they give it the "WLD" treatment, and actually flesh out the whole thing, it could be interesting - but could lead to folks running UM as a static place, which is anathema to the flavor of the dungeon. (If you're not changing the map on them every time they go to rest, than you're not doing it right.) I really can't see this offering much to me - but I'll give them the opportunity to surprise me, and who knows? They might even pry a few shekels out of my wallet in the process.
