Underworld: Unrated Extended Edition DVD due May 25th

I'm not sure about this. I mean, I don't think the problems with the movie originated from the fact that it was TOO SHORT. Adding more material doesn't seem like it would overcome the primary weaknesses of the film -- the lackluster performances by the supporting cast (that'd be YOU, Shane Brolly), the logic holes (how come he can run faster than a car once but not twice?), and the incoherence of some of the action scenes.

Of course I'll watch it, because there is one thing the movie definitely would benefit from more of: Kate Beckinsale's posterior in black latex. Mmm boy. And I'm glad that people who make movies about werewolves and vampires and swordfighting are making lots of money. It's a sign that things are right with the world.

Me, I'm still waiting on the original Underworld DVD....

Well now you know to wait for the unrated version of the movie.

Amazon.com reports the new version will contain 12 minutes of additional footage and 11 minutes of "replacement" footage. Hopefully most of the replaced scenes will be those originally featuring Kraven. I'm really looking forward to this.

...like 9mm silver pistol rounds going through a wall with enough force to disable werewolves on the other side, where 5.56mm rifle rounds bounce off?

Vampires not using obvious variations of current technology to smite their werewolf foes? (I'm thinking glazer rounds here...)

Werewolves...slowly...crawling...along...walls...when they could just bloody run along the floor and rip their target in half?

It was a sorta fun movie, but the stupid bits got me.

THAT'S IT!!! (in best charlie brown christmas voice) - This is exactly why I disliked this movie so - I really wanted a horror show not goth power rangers. I didn't even realize this until reading your post (I was blinded by my disappointment in the movie).

I may have to rewatch it with this in mind.
