Unique Classes/Templates/Races for players

Specifically and uniquely for a particular PC, I have created a new unique:

I am just wondering: Have any of you created a unique template, or race/subrace, or class (core/base, prestige, or advanced, or whatever) or something similar specifically to fit the character of one of your players? If so what have you created?

Some DMs I have played with have done this for some of the players' characters (for example, when a PC was 'transformed' into something else...). Just wondering how many others have done something similar and what.

Absolutely. It's a hell of a lot of fun to create custom components to fit a player's vision for a character. Just keep clear notes on everything and file it away in your campaign notebook. After a few years of this you'll have your own book of extras that you can copy and hand out to your players.

I've worked with my players to adapt or create a couple of prestige classes, most notably converting the deepwood sniper into the dwarven musketeer which had a BIG impact on my campaign even though that particular character was later killed.

In regards to something else mechanical, see my posts on my house rules in the jumping while charging discussion.

I worked with players mostly to create new templates, races, and sub-races. Sometimes one of the standard races just doesn't fit the player's idea for his character.

I have developed core classes, PrCs, feats, other mechanics - you name it. The real trouble, in my experience, is to determine where "helping a player play a certain concept not covered by the RAW" ends and where "player wants to be able to do everything all at once" begins ...

I've created many of the above, but not specifically for a single charecter, though things can be tweaked based on feed-back and play exp

All of the above.

Sometimes it's easier and more fun than hauling out the books and trying to figure out how to do it withing the existing rules. Other times its because I just got a good idea.

I've done most of these at one time or another, especially to create things that better reflect specific aspects of a campaign I am putting together. If the campaign is more horror based, then certain types of classes/PrCs might be "missing" in the core rules, or there might be mechanics that would better serve than the basic ones, or a new race might fit the campaign, etc. There is some carryover between campaigns, but often the material is very campaign-specific. :)

I know it's a long shot, but could a moderater take one off of 'None of the above' And put it on 'Prestige class'.

I've created a undead hunting ranger prestige class. I posted it a while back.
