HAH! Take that! We got 104 points on the rating scale! Michigan State only got 74. OSU only got 60. Dayton rocks! Go Flyers! Boston College got a lame 40 points. Georgetown? Those guys are chumps. 23 points. Yale rated a very weak 3 points and Harvard came dead last at 1. How do those Harvard people live with themselves?

Congratulations to Colorado State though. 120 points. I guess Dayton will just have to try harder.

Are y'all ever going to have another Ohio gameday, speaking of all you Ohio folks? It might be fun to come slum at your event if you do. If you're in the Columbus area, I've even got a sister-in-law and her family I can crash with.

Even though my own alma mater does quite well on these types of rankings, I still take the results with a huge pinch of salt.

Just because, for example, a particular university has a low retention or graduation rate should not count against it. It could be because that college weeds people out as opposed to allowing second-raters to graduate.

Other strange measures include alumni giving rate and acceptance rate. Just because a college has richer or more generous alumni doesn't mean it's better. And low acceptance rates can reflect self-deselection by candidates. In the UK, the University of Nottingham has more applicants per place than Oxford but no one seriously suggests that's because Nottingham is superior.

Dude, there's this crazy convention called "Origins" that you should check out.

Just to clairify: I don't live in Ohio anymore. I'm just UD alumni. GO FLYERS!

Yeah, that name sounds vaguely familiar.

I was talking about specifically an opportunity to meet ENWorlders that are only two or three hours away from me, though.
