Unpolite and happy about it! UPDATED 11/04/05

Also, since it IS your house, refuse to let him back in your house.. make it non-negotiable no matter who is DMing..

You also don't owe him anything beyond basic politeness in responding, if that. I'm polite except when provoked.. He's being rude, don't feel bad about being rude (and brief) back.

Don't let him walk over you any more than he has. I get the impression he's got some expectation that he can, based on the past (ex: muffin incident).. but it's in your hands to refuse to let that continue.

I'm sorry to laugh, but that deal with the muffins is killing me. I'd like to think I'd say something clever and jack the guy from my house. But its just as likely that I'd sit there, stunned that someone would do that.

"Dude, are you just gonna sit there and eat all those muffins?"
"Mrrrhph. Yeah"
"Dude! Those muffins are for everybody!"
"grrrlgh phhphht. So."
"Dude!"

Damn. Now I'm craving a big plate of muffins...

I'd emphasize the "eating three steaks, which you did not bring, at said BBQ", and "not sharing any of the muffins, even when you were asked to do so."

This guy is what my wife would call "a waste of skin."

Hi, my name is Frank and I just left my current group. I'm hoping someone on Enworld has a spot open for me to join their group? About me:

1. I like muffins...a lot.
2. I'm pretty good at BBQ'ing...well the eating it part.
3. When I'm bored, I sleep. Which if I'm sleeping during the game it's helpful because it lets the DM know he is doing something wrong.
4. I always speak my mind, I'm just honest about everything. That's good because I'm not socially fake like most people. If I don't like something I speak up about it!
5. I leave combat up to the other players because everyone likes to fight so much & I don't want to hog all of the spotlight. I tend to just sit back and let everyone know what they are doing wrong so we'll survive the encounter.
6. I'm really good at being a player because I ask the DM to repeat what's going on in the game more than once so I can make sure that I have a good understanding of the situation.

If I sound like a good fit for your group, please reply back to me because leaving my old group has made me very hungry.

Behold, I have created Steak Muffins.....the sizzly juicy red-meat goodness of grilled steak, wrapped up in the corn-bready goodness of a muffin!

Please keep them away from Frank.

Thank you!

I've got a simple response for mr. Frank's cryptic reply:

"Dear Mr Frank,

You have been ejected from my campaign because on several occasions you have exhibited anti-social behavior that is not conducive to the enjoyment of the group.

Specific instances are:
coming to a pot-luck BBQ and not contributing anything
taking food at said BBQ without asking
taking muffins made for the entire group and not sharing any of them
falling asleep during the game
being a rude guest

Frankly, Frank, your inability to understand why you've been kicked out, is precisely why you are being kicked out.

Have a nice day."

Now on the issue of the other GM's campaign and such, that's a touchy subject. You generally shouldn't discuss the nature of disagreements with outsiders, as a rule of good manners. In your own group, you should clearly communicate what action you took, and a summary explanation of why as well as on what authority (ex. it's your house, and your campaign). Beyond that, until you get back to another game with Frank that you don't run, nobody else in your gaming community needs to know all the details. You don't want to be seen as trying to give Frank a bad reputation. He'll be doing that on his own.

You are in your own right to say to the other GM (when the time comes) that you cannot play in the same game as Frank. If the GM asks why, you can clarify by stating that you had kicked him out of your group for his poor behavior and that you are standing by your decision to not have him in your company. You haven't asked the GM to do anything. He may (after reviewing his own evidence) decide he likes you and is annoyed at Frank as well and follow your example.

Remember, there are 6 billion people on the planet. You don't have to put up with jerks.

Quoted because, Janx, that is just beautiful. And the last line is going in my sig for a while as the newest Quotable Quote.

*Homer Voice* Hmm, steak muffins! The cause and solution of all my appetite issues! :D

Well you should be safe - unless you encounter a lean guy on an old motorcycle who is not wearing glasses though he has -4.0 sight on each eye...he will smell those icons of tastiness!
