Thanks for the update! I hadn't noticed a couple of these.

I've barely had the chance to flip through Heroes of Battle, but this seems like a series with potential. Heroes of Horror (oxymoronic name), if it sticks with Battle's fluff over crunch format, could be a useful DM tool.

This is the first I've heard of Spell Compendium, and I'm not overly impiresed. However, if it contains original material in addition to arranging material already out there, it may be worth my buck.

The 4th edition book looks to be the most promising of all! Definate pre-order.

"Ari Marmell has contributed to over 40 RPG and fiction products. Heroes of Horror is his first roleplaying product for Wizards of the Coast."

Nifty!

You want to know a project that I would support without question? A spell compendium like they had in 2E, only taking ALL of the old spells and updating them to 3.5.

Even better.... Encyclopedia Magica 3.5 *drools* Updated versions of EVERYTHING from the original EM series.....

The way I am reading it is that the book only covers the most common spells. I don't really consider that a "Spell Compendium".
The most common spells in one book, we have that, it's called a Players Handbook.

Really, I don't see why they couldn't just compile every official 3.x D&D spell into one book (updating the 3.0 stuff), it would sell like hotcakes. Oh well. What's the point of a Spell Compendium that isn't even much of a compendium, just a Greatest Hits collection.
