Unsure which caster route to go?

First Post
Going to be starting a new campaign and im going to be the only non divne caster of the party so i was either thinking going:
Wizard/Beguiler/Ultimate Magus
Wizard/Psion/Cerbremancer
Or
Beguiler/Psion/Cerbremancer

So i was wondering which would be the most usefull to the party as both utility and offensive caster.
Also the two races i have decide upon are either Human or Synad.
Any ideas or bulid someone would want to suggest would be most apreciated.

Thanks Fallenibilis :)

I don't have the books from where you are getting the beguilder, cerbremancer, ultimate magus or psion (or synad race.) but I always go Human Wizard/Incantrix/Archmage.

Incantrix is from the Magic of Faerun and the Players guide to Faerun.

I use the version in the PgtF. Incantrixes get improved metamagic which reduces the cost of metamagic feats by one levels. They are a 10 lvl PrC which gets 4 bonus metamagic feats. (by lvl 15 if you take 5 levels of wizard.) Something called instant metamagic where you get to apply 1 metagamic feat per day (more uses at higher levels) to a spell without increasing the cost of the spell. Other abilites also.

Im not sure Inchantrix is going to be an option as neither me nor my DM have the Forgotten Realms/Faerun Books.

Any pro and cons to be given for any of the builds that anyone wants to suggest. Also are the abilitys given by the Synad worth giving up the extra feat as a human.

Hmm. My favorite thing about the Beguiler isn't the spell list, it's how well their spell list works with their skill list and their huge number of skill points. Having the ability to ignore SR at 20th level is just awesome, and the bonus Metamagic feats aren't bad either.

Hybrid caster PrCs can be good, but you generally want to start with a class that has little in its favor other than spellcasting -- a Cleric, rather than a Druid, for example.

Who are the other PCs in your party? If you're the only Arcane caster, are they going to be relying on you to handle teleportation and the like?

At the moment the rest of the party looks like it will be an alternate version of the Warforged created by my DM thats a Fighter/Paladin/Fist Of Rasial, a Whisper Gnome Rogue/Cleric/Shadowbane Stalker, and all i really know about the last player is that he hates playing caster classes so its safe for me to assume that i will be the only Arcane Caster/Manifester.

As to SR im not too worried about it cause if i do go wizard i plan to pick Conjuration as my favored school for the fact most of its spells ignore SR and of course Abrupt Juant ;).

I would not recommend mixing magic and psionics, imho, Cerebremancers suck.

Ultimate Magus is pretty cool, though.
