[UPDATED] Most D&D Players Prefer Humans - Without Feats!

I've played in games that don't allow multiclassing, but never games that don't allow feats. Go figure.

I play Halflings and half orcs! I find humans just dull! I like 3.5 because halflings can be as powerful as other races without the dullness of always having to be single classed thieves. However my 5e character is a halfling paladin, and he is useful and cool!

Aesthetics is indeed the dominant factor, but that doesn't mean that power doesn't factor in significantly.
Power's still significant, maybe not to the decision of what to play, but to the experience of plating it.

And that experience is important to the decisions to play again, or not.

It's just that it will be secondary and purely negative.

I'm indeed one of those who also prefers the Tolkien-esque races to the more modern Tieflings and Dragonborn and the like. But that's just my preferred aesthetic...
