"It seems this man clawed out his own eyes, even tried to eat one of them. I hope you're not right about the suspect being inhuman or something," she says, an unhappy tone in her voice..

"What would cause someone to do that?" Simon thought aloud. Realizing his mistake, and his rhetorical question, he continued in private. Perhaps voodoo? Simon thought. Now that there was a mystery accompanying the dead body, somehow the whole situation was more palatable.

Jennifer said:
"I'll see if there's an evidence kit in the car," she says.

"Alright, I'll wait here and keep an eye on things until you return," Simon replied. He looked around but didn't touch anyhting until Jennifer returned with or without the evidence kit.

As Jennifer walks back towards the car, she has the distinct feeling of being watched. Looking around, she cannot see anything out of the ordinary, but still the feeling persists.
The car is fully equipped with all the latest high-tech toys. Grabbing the investigations kit [OOC : +5 bonus] she heads back towards the museum, still a little distracted. Once inside, the feeling vanishes.

Meanwhile, Simon wanders around in the museum, waiting for jennifer to return. His eyes are drawn to one of the bigger statues, that of a man dressed in a leopard skin and masked, crouched over a sleeping figure.. Looking at the evocative image, he wonders what has drawn him to it. Some movement? Or.... Blood on his claws?.

"My guess is he didn't like what he saw," she replies.

Jennifer can't help but feel nervous, and seems to constantly be swivelling her head, trying to spot where the feeling is coming from. She pauses only to locate the evidence kit in the car.

[ooc: DrZombie, are you rolling the dice or are we?]

[ooc : I am for the moment, but if you 'd like i can let you make the rolls, I don't really mind]

[ooc: No problem, just checking]

Jennifer, now armed with an evidence kit, begins searching the area around the guard's desk for anything of interest before moving on to search the Songye exhibit.

[ooc: Searching and taking 10 on any investigate checks.]

The area around the desk is , besides being, covered in blood, totally ordinary, holding a few half-empty coffee mugs (already sampled by forensics), an overflowing ashtray, a newspaper (day before yesterday's) and a few stashed-away porn mags.

The songye exhibit doesn't exist yet as such, it was stashed away in the storage area. When you enter it, you see the police talking to a curator, who is very, very upset. Crates have been broken open, allover the place.
You notice a few things :
- this wasn't a random burglary : you see several (in your opionion) valuable artifacts, some quite small and easy to take away, that just lie on the floor, some trampled.
- Not all boxes have been opened. At first you find it hard to detect a pattern, then you find it. Only the boxes from the songye exhibition that arrived from Congo have been opened, those that arrived from elsewhere not.
- Near the entrance a guy is having a quiet smoke. He's sitting in a delivery van with the content expression of someone who's paid by the hour, not per job done. You can glimpse the side of one of the boxes he's delivering : an express air delivery from Congo.

[ooc: woot :D]

Jennifer nods as she processes all the information presented to her in the room. Her first course of action: Find out what the delivery guy knows about his cargo, if anything. She walks over to him, and shows him her badge as she starts to speak.

"Good morning monsieur, I'm Detective Archer. I have some questions for you about that cargo of yours," she states with a warm smile.

She takes out a notepad and pen to get a copy of the delivery guy's details and to jot down any interesting answers.

Simon continues to examine the leopard man and the blood on the claws. He spends several seconds just staring at the eyes - trying to see if it would blink.

After a some time, Simon reviewed the ground area beneath the leopard man to see if the 'blood' dripped.

When Jennifer returned with the evidence kit, Simon decided to bring this to her attention. If she isn't seen after a few moments, Simon will look for her, while trying to keep an eye on the leopard man as well.

When Simon looks back up, the blood on the claws is gone, no trace of it remains, yet you are sure of what you saw.

Simon blinked his eyes several times, squeezing tightly, then snapping them open. 'Nope, still gone . . . but I know what I saw . . . Jennifer is never going to believe me,' Simon thought.

Simon paced around the leopard man a time or two, then looked around to see if he could spot cameras, image projectors, or some other way that someone could manipulate what he saw.

If he doesn't find anything, Simon will work his way over to the Sculpture from Central Africa, looking at those sculptures, then work his way over into The Memorial Gallery (looking around there) and back to the leopard man - all thoughts of where Jennifer was were faded, distant as his mind tried to come to grips with what he had seen.
