Urban Arcana Hijacked Game

Simon jumped into the research with relish, feeling comfortable to be back in his element. He ran the name and description of the amulet through all of the known databases and began cross-referencing to various off-line books he may need.

Simon then cross indexed the amulet information with any information from African history, the ton-tons, and anything that would tie them together.

As you start cross-referencing, you "discover" a few things. First of all, cross-referencing haiti with africa leads you to slave-trade. Haitian culture is a mix-match of various tribal beliefs, some catholicism that crept in recently, and something to glue them all together, the result being voodoun, voodoo or however you want to spell it.
As far as you know there is no connection with the ton-tons, the amulet was "acquired" by the church long before the ton-tons got organised.

About the amulet itself : it was believed to be an ancient artifact given by the goddess of the jungle, the rainbow serpent. It supposedly holds great powers of protection.

Further reading will either have to be done at the university library or at the museum.

The afternoon passes quietly. In the evening jennifer has her own car waiting for her in the parking, a VW golf, while Simon gets to ride the "ghostmobile".

Any plans for this evening?

Outside of the office, Simon will explain what he has learned to Jennifer, hoping that she may have found something that he had missed.

For the evening, Simon will check with Jennifer to see what she has going on then decide from there.

Jennifer looks more than a little surprised and awkward as Simon describes the bundle of things he discovered. Jennifer nods and mentions the books she managed to locate, which are likely the same ones Simon did.

"Tonight? I was probably going to take a look at those books if the places they're in are still open later. If not that I'm going to rent out some movies and get a pizza, celebrate a successful first day. I'd give you a call if that's the case, see if you wanted to come over," she says with a smile.

"That would be great, actually. I've still got to get my flat in some kind of order so I'll probably be working on that for a while," Simon replied, although he showed some signs of embarassment or nervousness.

"I've found some interesting web site on arcane knowledge and the internet. There might be something to that . . . though I think that is for later and not really related to what we're working on now," Simon added. "Give me a ring if you want to catch some movies, I'll bring the drinks."

Simon will then take the ghost buster vehicle to the store to grab some more beer (several different types, one of which was something Jennifer would want), and headed to the flat to organize clean and get ready for his evening.

[feel free to RP the evening]

Once again you have the feeling of being watched when your cars kleave the parking in Brussels. Once again you can't seem to see anyone. Odd.
The feeling vanishes when you enter your parking in leuven.

Jennifer parks her car, and gets out with a couple of pizzas, and a small stack of DVDs. She looks around the quiet car park and remembers the sensation of being watched, seemingly from nowhere. She shakes her head for a moment, thinking herself paranoid, and makes her way to the elevator.

Reminds me of that one castle I visisted...

She spends time reminiscing about times past before the elevator stops at her floor with a sobering 'ding'.

Jennifer manages to retrieve her keys from her pocket, and make her way into her apartment without great difficulty. She sets the food down and gives Simon a call, letting him know he can show up whenever he's ready.

Hmm, maybe I should've took a moment to shove all those boxes away before calling him... meh, no matter...

Simon opened the door to his flat, arms full with briefcase, beer and keys. The keys he tossed on an end table, muttering a silent mantra to himself Keys on the end table . . . keys on the end table, hoping that would be sufficient to remind himself where they were. The briefcase wen by the computer and the beer went into the refrigerator. He actually enjoyed his beer ice cold, something his few friends had always made fun of. He hoped that Jennifer didn't mind - plus it was always easier to warm the beer up than to cool it down.

Simon had worked on his apartment, cleaning and organizing his clothes. He showered and checked e-mail from his home. He also transfered the data he had gathered on his laptop onto dvd and placed the disk in his briefcase.

He took the call on the third ring . . . not wanting to appear too eager. "Sounds good, Jennifer, I should be there in a few . . . ," Simon replied.

He checked himself over one last time, then opened the door to head out. At the last moment, his mantra kicked in. Simon caught the door before it closed and retrieved his keys . . . and the dvd . . . and the beer. He sighed, As forgetful as ever . . .

He knocked politely at Jennifer's door, checking the hall . . . all the while feeling slightly nervous and uncomfortable. It reminded him of the feeling he had when he left the station - odd that he should think of that now. He decided to bring it up with Jennifer.

Which fits, since Simon is British and likes his beer cold, as oppossed to his friends (his friends beer not his friends ;))
