Those are cool. I like the idea of Vermin Swarm Druids!

As for the City-shape ability it reminds me of the Brick Troll character I once played in GURPS. His major shtick was the ability to merge with Brick Walls but still interact with the outside world (on either side of the wall)
 

Part of me is sad that nearly all the alt-class features are for "nature" characters. Certainly there could be new variety of awesome for even the currently "city" characters: Rogues, Wizards, etc.

*shrug* Helping out the woodsies is all well and good, but where's the love for the Sorcerer on the go?

I was most impressed by the Scout alternate skirmish feature. Others also impressed me, but when I read that my first thought was to create a Scout / Monk using that feature as a sort of aikido style of combat (devastating counters rather than rush into an attack, or something like that).

Then there was that option for a city based druid animal companion - smaller but smarter and being more familiar-ish. I'd allow that even for nature based druids.

So . . . we have Rage, Fury, Ferocity, and that spinning attack thing as potential class features for barbarians. I wonder just how many more combinations they can think of for this type of thing?
 

Some of these class variants are really good.

The druid shapeshifting variants of smaller creatures and vermins would be great for evil druids, or duids of underground races.

Ferocity is an excellent variant for Rage, but I see no reason why this should be tied with an urban environment.

OTOH I think that some of the other variants, including shapeshiting into animated objects, while they are just fine mechanically, they make no sense for these classes. But that's because I simply think that a druid is a druid is a druid, even if it lives in town it's just bound to be a nature-driven character, otherwise it's not a druid. A urban druid concept makes no sense to me, unless it's just a druid living in a town. Animated objects have nothing at all to do with a druid.

I can accept the ideas of a urban barbarian or a urban ranger, but not druid...

DnD Druids are conceived as being in touch with the 'environment' and the Urban environment is as much a living environment as is a forest or cave system.
The ida that Druids become 'animate objects' is wonky but I think its suppose to be the closest approximation of 'Urban elementals' without actually introducing a whole new 'element'
