Heh, there's lots of monsters than become that much neater when you mix them with illithid (or maybe I just have a thing for mind flayers in the first place
)... Trying to picture an illithid kraken, though, it's destroying my brain...
BTW, something you might want to add under "Special Attacks":
Extract (Ex): An illithid that begins its turn with all four tentacles attached and successfully maintains its hold may choose to extract the opponent’s brain, instantly killing that creature.
Implant (Ex): Once per month, an illithid that begins its turn with all four tentacles attached and successfully maintains its hold may choose to implant an illithid larva in that creatures' brain. This automatically deals 2d4 points of damage to the new host. The host then must make a Fortitude save (DC 25) or become infected.
Effects of infection do not become apparent for one week: At that point, the host must make a Will save (DC 25) each day or fall under the control of the new larva (which will most likely try to find a place to hide until the changes are complete). Control is permanent, and once the host fails it is not allowed a new save. Over the course of the week, regardless of the Will save results rapid changes begin occurring, including the greying of skin, the excretion of a clear slick substance from the host's pores, rapid and extreme weight loss, and, most obviously, the growth of four sexy tentacles.
A Remove Disease spell may stop the process, but the larva is allowed a Fortitude save if at least a week has passed since the initial infection. Consider the larva's Fortitude save to be +4. Changes which have already occurred are however permanent.
Two weeks after the initial infection, if the process has not been stopped, the changes will be complete and the larva will take full control of its host. The host is no longer considered to exist: A wish or miracle may restore it, but only after the illithid it has become is slain. At that point, the body is dead but the soul is released, allowing resurrection.
Okay, maybe the implant description is a little long, but it's something to keep around if you want to be really mean to your players (it's not something I'd throw at them more than once or twice)
