The next door opens onto a small hallway connecting two rooms to the north and south into a suite. From the room to the south, the sound of birds calling can be heard.
Gildrim pushes the southern door open, and looks inside. It appears to be a study of some kind, with a desk and shelves cabinets. Notably, there is a large, sturdy metal cabinet with a heavy recessed lock in one corner. Daylight streams in from the broken boards over the window.
Every horizontal surface in the room is covered with birds. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, of crows blink silently back at Gildrim -- for a moment.
Then they explode into action. The room is obscured behind a swarm of whirling black figures that burst out through the door into the hallway beyond. Gildrim and Ter-raen are quickly covered in crows and are badly pecked. (ooc: 6 damage each. G and T both get AoOs as the swarm enters their spaces.)
[sblock=swarms]The swarm auto-hits for 1d6 damage against all foes in its space at the end of its move. Each round that you start your turn in the swarm's space, you must make a DC 12 fort save or be nauseated and unable to do anything except a single move action for that round.[/sblock]
ooc: Closing the door is a move action, and doesn't require a roll. Not that it will do much good now; the bulk of the crows are in the room with you. In other words, Ter-raen still has a standard action left.
