Urn Your Pay (Rae judging)

Erf's enthusiasm takes a small hit as the room obnoxiously refuses to be filled with eldritch dread, but gamely he steps in.

"Well they probably just went with mundane traps." He mutters consolingly.


The little gnome moves over and uses one of the sticks to attempt to gently flip open a bow from a distance.


OOC: If the boxes are unflipable Erf simply moves over and tries to open one.

"Dinnae be in sich a fudder!" Gildrim calls warningly. "Ye're oor anely healer. Ah can save yer life, but Ah cannae get ye back oan yer feet if ye're th' ane stickit full ay darts."

"Fur some reason, Grendath - praise be tae his name, an' aw that - hasnae seen fit tae lend me that kind ay pouer," he grumbles.

Gildrim stands in the doorway of the mysterious room and looks to see whether there's any sign of disturbance in the dust that covers the carpet, besides Erf's tiny prints.
 

"Ah come on Gildrim! I'm an adventurer! I can't be hidin' behind ye fellas all the time now can I? If ought happens then I'll scarper, alright? I'll be careful."

The gnome looks a little guilty as he speaks realizing the truth of Gildrim's words, but reluctant to give up his excitement.
 

"Och, aye, gae oan, then. It's mair easy tae be reckless wi' yer ane life than wi' somebody ense's, an' the loss ay young Cyian still hings hivy," Gildrim responds.
 

Ter-raen stops his examination of the picture, satisfied it is not another terror in disguise. And the mention of the lost young man does bring up the seriousness of what their trip has become once again. "All done. We go?"
 

The box flips over easily under Erf's -- by now practiced -- manipulation, exposing only a darker green rectangle on the table. The dust on the floor does is undisturbed, except for where Erf has stepped.
 

OOC: Erf is actually attempting to open the boxes rather than tip them over.

Erf moves over and picks up the overturned box carefully opening it and peering inside.

"Ah Cyian'll be fine its destiny 'n such I'm sure."

Fenenn watches all of this apprehensively.
 

The boxes are too tightly closed to be opened with a pair of sticks. Erf sets the sticks aside and starts to move closer, but Fenenn lets out a warning bark, halting him in his tracks. Fenenn raises his nose sniffs the air a few times, raises his hackles, and makes a noise that is half growl, half whine.
 

Erf jumps back out of the room as soon as Fenenn barks and moves over to the wolf hound.

"What is it boy? Show me where it is!"

OOC: Erf gives Fenenn the track command and readies himself to follow his companions nose.

So according to my reading of scent Fenenn can take move actions to note the direction of the scent with no check needed and automatically knows its square if within 5ft. Just let me know if I need to make rolls, etc.
