Urn Your Pay (Rae judging)

OOC: Covaithe, you've got nothing on me when it comes to bad roll Sir... The minus came out as a plus for some reason so thats actually a two. A two. A two. *Face palm* Charisam check (1d20--1=4)

"Well I suppose if you think its a good idea Kshatrya." Erf murmurs dreamily starring at the Nixie out of the corner of his eye. "Let's go fellas!"

Fenenn whines in confusion, Erf seems to be happy, in heat, and worried - not a combination that typically occurs in dogs.

Gildrim pulls his leggings up to view the puckered yellow mark of his centipede bite.

"Haur's an interestin' fact aboot th' toun ay Cragger's Rest," he says to the air, while scratching at the injury. "Thaur's a man named Corvin Tanabar, wha's th' sheriff, wha has it in his heid tae tak a lairge band ay weel-armed men intae th' swamp tae hunt doon an' kill ivery green an' scaly craitur he can find. Isnae that interestin', noo?"

"Aw reet, off we gae, than, back tae Cragger's Rest, tae tell awbody wha listens aboot th' shrine an' its nixie keeper. Aw dae ye think we shoud finish up in th' hoose first, an' than gae oan oor way, wi' anely a wird tae Sister Anemone, mebbe?"

[sblock=ooc]Hmm, it seems like you're asking a question there, but I'm not sure I follow. What exactly is Gildrim suggesting?[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC][sblock=First, a Gildrese to English translation]"Here's an interesting fact about the town of Cragger's Rest. There's a man named Corvin Tanabar, who's the sheriff, who has it in his head to take a large band of well-armed men into the swamp to hunt down and kill every green and scaly creature he can find. Isn't that interesting, now?"

"Alright, off we go, then, back to Cragger's Rest, to tell everybody who listens about the shrine and its nixie keeper. Or do you think we should finish up in the house first, and then go on our way, with only a word to Sister Anemone, maybe?"[/sblock]Gildrim is making more oblique threats. If the party is forced to return to Cragger's Rest immediately, he'll talk freely about the shrine, its treasure and the nixie to the townsfolk, presumably including the prone-to-violence sheriff and his men.
On the other hand, if the party is allowed to finish up at the house before leaving, he'll tell no one other than Anemone. His final question is addressed to the nixie.
Despite Kshatrya's supposed enthusiasm for visitors, Gildrim is pretty clear she's trying to get rid of us as soon as possible, and wouldn't welcome a large group of armed men on her doorstep.[/sblock]

ooc: Ah, thanks for the explanation. I understood the Gildrim-ese, but missed the oblique threats.

"I'm sure this Corbus Miniver wouldn't dare offer violence in an area so clearly protected by the goddess," Kshatrya responds confidently. "When he sees that she loves the green and scaly creatures, as you put it, he'll change his mind on that, too. Hurry along then! Travel safely!"

Erf gives Gildrim a medium consistency look - this being quite strong for the friendly gnome - and walks into the house beckoning for the Dwarf to follow.

"There's no need fer that kinda talk Gildrim! Kshatrya's not offered us anythin' like harm - errr, well unless ye add a c."

The little green gnome admonsihes lamely, before lowering his voice,

"She's justa little deluded by whatever is really tellin' her to do these things, and I don't think its the goddess, why would Galatea want a garden pond fer a shrine? I think we need te get Kshatrya te come back with us and see Sister Anemone, that way if there is anythin' fishy goin' on 'ere Kshatrya'll be safe..."

He winces,

"Even if ye need te knock her out te do it, an' I'll heal her straight after obviously. I know she'll be upset, but she'll be happier in the long run, and Sister Anemone said she's just lost a pupil so it'd be perfect..."

Ensuring it cannot be seen from the doorway Erf begins to cut some thin strips of cloth from his clothing which he wads and uses to plug his ears.

"I she's got me and Ter-raen charmed like I think she has we need te avoid hearin' her so she can't try to bamboozle us anymore. So ye'd need te take charge Gildrim, what d'ye say?"

[sblock=OOC] I've been agonizing over Erf's grand plan for a few days now, trying to avoid meta gameing, etc. But Erf is definetly suspicious about the shrine, and thinks if it is real it can take care of itself against anything Kshatrya could ward off. He also knows that the Nixie's lonliness is hardly likely to end, and doesn't like the idea of her being alone and unprotected.[/sblock][sblock=OOC]

He also thinks she'll be much happier, and more accessible, with Anemone and she'd realize that after a while and then maybe he'd send her a few Animal Messengers and pop in for the odd visit and send her a few gifts, and then.... (Except this being Erf that should sound a great deal nicer than it perhaps does.)

Let me know if you think this is outside what a Charmed character can do for you Covaithe; but from my reading of charm person, it makes you percieve them and their actions in the most favorable way. Erf is basically thinking that Kyshatrya is being manipulated and he wants to save her. I think thats reasonable, but it might live fairly close to the border of Un.[/sblock]

[sblock=OOC]Sorry for the late reply, I've had to change my laptop this few days. Anyway, Charisma check 9.[/sblock]

Ter-raen considers the long long story, and sums it up in his way: more work, but one at a time. "Ter-raen think, we get urn, then help lady here. One thing at a time, make job better to finish."

[sblock=ooc]Well, that's certainly an interesting interpretation, Halford. ;) You're right that it seems a little metagame-ish, but... It's well rationalized, and it's the sort of crackpot creative thing that Erf might do. Besides, it sounds like it could be fun. So I'll roll with it.

I guess that means the ball is in Gildrim's court now.[/sblock]
