Urn Your Pay (Rae judging)

OOC: SO do we want to go and sleep once we finish off exploring this floor or if we face no further opposition do we want to go up or downstairs? Personally I am up for a bit of further exploration.

Erf searches the room, and quickly finds a scroll case beneath a pile of rotten papers in one of the waterlogged sections of the shelves. Inside are five pages of arcane magical writings, stiff with age but perfectly functional.

The other door from the rotunda leads into a dimly lit room featuring a small table and chairs. The dim light comes from sunlight leaking through cracks in the boarded-up wooden door to the north.

ooc: When you say standard procedures you mean something like that if there isn't an immediate threat, Erf takes 10 searching, or some such? That's fine, just let me know.

"Ooh, these look, um dead arcany, they must be valuable! Wonder what they are..." He examines the scrolls handling them with great care, and offers the to Gildrim in case the dwarf can shed any light upon their contents.

"Looks like theres just one more room, then we'll need to decide whether we're goin up or down."

OOC: Something like Erf looks in Fenenn enters sniffing and if he does not growl Erf follows and takes 20 on a search - if we are not pressed for time.

"Och aye, Ah've seen thaes sorts ay thingmies afair. Shoud be nae bather. Ach, weel, hrumm, thaur obviously, hmm, some kind ay... coud this ane be... If Ah coud recall whit this wee squiggle means..."

After several more moment of incoherent mumbling, Gildrim turns a scroll up the other way to see if that helps any.

"Hrumph. Whaiver that spellcaster wis, he haed tairrible haundwritin'."[sblock=OOC]Gildrim and scrolls don't mix. As a divine caster, he's cut off from Sor/Wiz and Brd scrolls. As a bard, his spell list has little overlap with the regular divine casters' lists. So he has no ranks in Spellcraft and doesn't know Read Magic. But hey, it's only a full-round action DC 20+spell level check, for Erf. Looks like he's made one of them already.[/sblock]

After poring over the scrolls, Erf deciphers two of them.

Moving to the last unopened door on this level, the party finds a music room. The walls are hung with cracked and warped harps, lutes, and other less familiar looking stringed instruments. On the floor are the remains of some instrument that used to stand on three legs; now just a tangled pile of splinters.

Erf's careful search reveals a fine silver flute in a hard leather case under a pile of faded manuscripts. Though tarnished, the flute is still a thing of beauty, chased with elegant etched scrollwork.

On the far wall of the room is another door, which, when opened, leads to another stairwell, mirror of the one on the other side of the house, with plain unadorned stairs leading both up and down.

"Wow beautiful flute! One of you big fellas mind carryin' it? Well I guess we need te decide if we go up or down, I vote up fer no particular reason." Erf says as he examines the documents to see if they are at all legible.

Ter-raen extends a hand out to take the instrument from the gnome. Looking at it closer, he twirls the little thing around, spinning it a few times, tossing it up and down a few times. He then wipes the mouthpiece on his tunic, and puts it to his mouth, taking a deep breath before gently blowing a long mouthful of air.
