Useless New WOTC Spell: Styptic

No one has asked the most IMPORTANT question - WHO the heck would name a spell "Styptic?" I don't care how old the concept of a styptic is, it's about as fantasy-sounding as the term "cell phone!" :p

But I do agree - they should have just made this spell 9th level, and posted it on April 1st... :)

Hmmmm

Maybe they removed Cure Minor wounds so they could up the number of orisons available per day. More like the psionic versions.

I remember seeing a few threads about making orisons/canrips castable at will. CMiW was one reason they wouldn't be.

AH HAH! This is the best explanation yet. Still, anything, even 0-level spells, can be unbalancing without limits.
 



There's a fun disease in Nyambe you can get by letting open wounds touch swamp water, though it doesn't state a rule for knowing what an open wound is.
