Using a greatsword and a buckler

It doesnt say, 'make an offhand attack' or anything like that, it says, 'use a weapon in your offhand'. In order to use a two handed weapon you have to hold it with both hands, therefore you are useing a weapon in your off hand. It seems perfectly clear, if they had meant it to be different they should've said off hand attack.
