Yeah, it'll be pretty cool, I can see solo players using it a fair bit. I think what people don't realise is that you can have both an AI DM and have people running their own game without it.

I see AI DM's also like playing a video game. The game already has a story line, encounters, etc. set up. An AI DM would be there to referee the game more than anything.

But if we get to the point where it can do even more, great!

I started another thread here about the availability of AI GMs, and a link was posted in the very first reply: Exists. Any AI Gamemasters Out There?

Transformers is ficitonal, Megatron is not stealing job of real-life artists, writers and now dungeon masters due to some technocratic obsession with destroying human creativity and deskilling the population through toys. And any writer who would try write now a pro-generative AI story would get blacklisted by me anyway, I've done that with Chip Zdarsky after that disgusting Batman story about Failsafe.

But when people spout about "stealing jobs" using technology that has, in fact, stole jobs at one point or another, I find it hypocritical.

If you ever take a digital picture, for example, you are supporting technology and the manufacturers of that technology, that put many film manufacturing companies out of business. If you ever bought a digital print, same thing. Supported a digital artist? What about the painter or sketcher who works with physical art who lost your money to the diginal artist? And so on.

To be clear, there is nothing wrong with embracing or criticising whatever you like, just admit supporting one thing and not another, without the "they took our jobs" argument, which has been happening with every single technological advancement throughout history to one point or another.
